Very good but complex suggestion. Already in the "new features" backlog : https://www.kcsoftwares.com/bugs/view.php?id=859
    Thanks again for this suggestion

The good point is that it confirms it's a good idea, confirmed over time from a user perspective :)

I noticed that plink.exe is missing from the db after scanning. Sumo lists all the other putty files except for plink. Is there a reason for this?

Enable debug mode in settings, restart SUMo. Then drag'n'drop the exe onto SUMo and the log file will indicate the cause (copy/paste here or DM if assistance is needed)

Isn't it detected as Putty in your list ?

SUMo doesn't accept drag and drop on the GUI. Is it supposed to?
I did mention in my post that all the other Putty files are detected.

    Code:
    Hiding : PuTTY suite (64 bits) / Simon Tatham / 0.75.0.0 (D:\ThinApps\WSCC\Other Utilities\x64\psftp.exe)
    Hiding : PuTTY suite (64 bits) / Simon Tatham / 0.75.0.0 (D:\ThinApps\WSCC\Other Utilities\x64\plink.exe)
    Hiding : PuTTY suite (64 bits) / Simon Tatham / 0.75.0.0 (D:\ThinApps\WSCC\Other Utilities\x64\putty.exe)
    Hiding : PuTTY suite / Simon Tatham / 0.75.0.0 (D:\ThinApps\WSCC\Other Utilities\psftp.exe)
    Hiding : PuTTY suite / Simon Tatham / 0.75.0.0 (D:\ThinApps\WSCC\Other Utilities\plink.exe)
    Hiding : PuTTY suite / Simon Tatham / 0.75.0.0 (D:\ThinApps\plink.exe)
    Hiding : PuTTY suite / Simon Tatham / 0.75.0.0 (D:\ThinApps\WSCC\Other Utilities\putty.exe)

Some files are hidden some not such as pageant.exe and puttygen.exe.

I don't use the Suite as such. Only the the command line plink. I see a lot of other files hidden in the log which probably don't apply either(nsudo, nircmd, etc.). Any chance for an option to unhide files that the user wants reported/listed similar with the way Ignore does it?

the "automatic hide" function is based on "same product name / company / version" in the same folder. Isn't it the case for you on this particular product ?
One option could be to "remove" all subproducts (delete, not ignore) then drag'n'drop the exe you want to monitor specifically (plink.exe). Let me know if it suits your needs (and works as expected :) )

Then SUMo is not being consistent regarding the above statement. Did you even look at the image that I posted? Both of those files belong to putty too and not hidden.

Also drag and drop does not work for me, or is this a feature of the paid version?. You did not answer when I asked if it should work or not.

This is double-weird. As soon as next release is ready, i'll deep dive on that.
    Thanks for reporting.

@Kyle_Katarn hit the nail on the head in the quoted KL thread:
"This is just an old trick from Kaspersky to promote their software updater (poor and discontinued)"
I still hope KL will leave SUMo alone.

I hope so too. Otherwise I would have to stop using KIS.
Though it's sad to see Kaspersky performing anti-compatitive actions when in past they accused Microsoft of doing the same thing.

yes I saw Kyle post in Kaspy forum, but I can think this happens with KIS that include a poor updater in his features, not seen this using Kaspy Cloud Free that doesn't have all the features and is a basic AV. Thanks at the moment I can deny Kaspy purpose to uninstall Sumo, if in future is not possible bypass the warning I will use other free AV and is a pain because Kaspy free is a great AV, light and effective, but if it start been intrusive I click uninstall

[SUMo] Beta Report for Java(TM) Platform SE (64 bits) by Oracle v 8.0.3010.9 - SUMo reports Update available (16.0.2.0)

I believe version 8 is still the recommended version. All the 16 version entries are flagged beta on the KC software website, so I guess this one too..

Seen Kaspersky "Tech Expert" reply (or better say not reply) for the know issue I uninstall kaspy cloud and I stay with sumo + window defender at the moment (when 3rd party AV will be compatible 100% with Win11 I will decide but for sure no more kaspy on my pcs)

Unless KL stops flagging SUMo as "incompatible software", Kaspersky will be removed from my computer (KIS is not really needed here anyway). Alternatively (or, better still, additionally), they should allow the user to ignore/hide this pointless hint (which can be achieved with the help of a registry hack, but this can hardly be considered a viable, permanent solution).

I opened another KL support ticket earlier this week. If the KL "experts" can fix this issue, fine. If they refuse to fix this issue, KIS will be removed from my machine. Period.

I don't think they will. I have opened a couple of support tickets regarding this issue in the past. The experts' help was useless; they told me there COULD POSSIBLY be issues when running SUMo and KIS at the same time. However, they could not provide a technical explanation for this alledged incompatibility.

I don’t think they will, this is the reason I did not renew KIS three months ago…
