I updated my version of SAP on May 10, and a short time ago, I decided to open the GUI, and noticed that some of the services weren't running... But, as is my wont, I had saved a copy of the latest installer created in %Temp%. So, ran it and voila...
@GrDukeMalden No, I don't. ...I did say, back in June that I had another licence, and this was activated for another 3 yrs, as per....
Other than a firewall, SecureA+ Essentials has been my only real-time security for several years. Never a problem of any sort.

@GrDukeMalden -- @mood said it (Thanks, @mood). Just an English text clarification (no big deal but it's good to see the lads in Singapore are keeping SA+ sailing sweetly, with a following wind.)
Just started becoming interested in the freemium version. Does it require activating with an account and / or email address?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems the 12 month 'freemium' version isn't a thing anymore. It looks like instead they offer a 90 day trial.
Download the FREE version at... Code: https://www.secureage.com/products/home-malware-protection/download-thank-you .
Thanks @bellgamin . I've downloaded the free version (haven't installed yet) but it looks to be quite limited compared to a free 12 month use of the Pro version, which I guess the Fremium version was. It looks to provide little to no real-time protection so I suspect I would be better off sticking with WiseVector StopX free version.
I think I'm starting to get the idea now. OK, saves me time installing then restoring an backup image.
There is no Running WVStopX is an excellent security decision, regardless of what other security apps you choose to run. However, SA+ & WVStopX do not overlap in any significant way. WVStopX is primarily an AV. SA+ is primarily a whitelisting anti-executable defauilt-deny app, mainly akin to VoodooShield & EXE Radar Pro. SA+ has made significant protective advances since the Freemium version was issued. Today's Free version of SA+ is a useful adjunct to an AV. Its only substantial weakness, versus the paid versions of SA+, is that it lacks the fingerprinting of its whitelist. Ergo, a fraudulent certificate *might* slip by. From that standpoint, if a free whitelisting/anti-executable app is desired, you might give VoodooShield's free version a trial run.
Dan has gifted me a Pro license for VS but currently it has an issue with Command Lines. He has told me today that the next version using the same new engine as DefenderUI won't have that same problem.
Since I made that comment way back then, they did some unfettering of the free version in response to complaints & suggestions by GrDukeMalden & others. However, they did not unfetter the fingerprinting of certificates, sad to say.
