I see, Sophos free scareware premium ... However, I don't like it: It's the fattest bloatware I've ever tested. :(

I haven't seen any bloatware in Sophos home free , only when you install it, they give you an offer for premium and thats it ... no more popups.
    Its nice and clean.
People say Avast/AVG , Avira free security and Kaspersky is bloatware because of too many options and popups, Sophos isn't like that.

You are right, it's not full of bells and whistles but performance is really bad. Windows Defender is a rocket compared to Sophos.

It's premium for 30 days and then downgrades to the free version.

I quit using nine other AVs because of the popups> with the exception being WD and Sophos Home Premium. Sophos is as fast on four of my computers as anything including the alleged speed of Panda. Clean easy to use interface with a central cloud-based console to control settings.

There is a new version out : 3.3.1 for Sophos Home free & premium.

@Bunkhouse Buck Sophos free is also a good one, about just as good like Bitdefender free.

The pop-ups in the vast majority of AVs are absurd. Sure they might tell some things to novices, but to experienced users, they are almost insulting. I have licenses to about 11 and all but two are totally annoying as I see it.

I only use WD and Sophos because of it and I am glad every day that I am not disturbed and interrupted. Plus I got a deal for $29.99 for a year for 10 devices from Sophos!

Sophos just released "2021 and Beyond" Cybersecurity report.
    https://www.sophos.com/en-us/medialibrary/pdfs/whitepaper/sophos-it-security-team-2021-beyond.pdf
Interesting reading, especially for Sweden. Mebbe Sweden is top 3, because here in Finland, we route most of the traffic through Sweden.
Or it might be Sweden's military industries etc...

Could someone please verify whether the issue of automatic and irrecoverable deletion of files incorrectly deemed as malware has been resolved yet?

I sadly had to uninstall Sophos Home Premium last month after it started to do a deep scan and misidentified as malware several important bank transactions screenshots I had saved as html files in my archive. It "fixed" them all by deleting them automatically without placing them in quarantine for me to review and decide whether to recover or proceed to delete. This is not an "advanced" function, this is a basic 101 antivirus function. I could not risk more deletions so I unfortunately had to uninstall.

I recall reading that some other people had experienced similar issues a couple of years ago. Has it been addressed in this release? If not, when will it be resolved by ?
    Thank you.
