I've only tried Brave Search once (in Kubuntu) but the results were more relevant for the US than for AU. I may give it another try soon.

I have checked it out, and it's not even that bad, nice clean interface and the page loads quickly. It certainly has got potential, but now they need to add more relevant results per country, like you said. But I did like it more than DuckDuckGo, Bing and Startpage.com. For now Google stays the best.

After playing with Brave on Linux I reinstalled it on Windows and am grateful that the annoying prompts to make Brave default can be disabled, hopefully permanently.

It's not a bad browser really, once I've disabled all the included crap I don't use and I'd say it's faster than MS Edge.

Well, last I checked it doesn't leak a real VPN connection, nor does Firefox.

Brave reduces the page load performance cost of its adblocker

    https://www.ctrl.blog/entry/brave-ab-performance.html

“So, what caused all this extra work that slowed down page loads? The majority of the work came from JavaScript that the Brave browser injected into every page to help its adblocker. Specifically, it was the cosmetic filter — a component responsible for adjusting page layouts to correct for breakages caused by adblocking. Brave’s developers didn’t need to work on the script to improve its performance; they needed to delete it.”
