my AMD tuf 450m-pro gaming motherboard is using the AMD wraith spiral rgb cooler. I am looking for a better cooler that can fit the small space while not sacrificing the ram slots. right now the amd wraith spiral size is what I am looking for. its LxWxH is 10.9x10.3x5.4cm. My case has enough space for a 15cm(H) fan. My issue is the LxW which should be in the 10.9 by 10.3 cm size to fit and not hitting my rams which are rgb XPG and are tall. I looked at many air coolder like noctua dn etc. and they all are wider and longer and would hit my ram slots. So any help would be greatly appreciate it.

USA still the best. But barely.
Idk your whole setup. But sometimes increasing air flow out of the case will solve situations like this.

Since you're probably running a Ryzen CPU, I would recommend the Scythe Mugen 5 Black Edition.

The cooler has great ram clearance for just about any module kit and will fit in just about any mid tower or full tower case and it's also quite affordable.

I am currently running this cooler on my Ryzen 7 3700X and it keeps the CPU nice and cool (At least in my case)

Overall, a great performing CPU cooler for a great price...you really can't go wrong.

    Anyways, I hope this helps.

Why? What is your complaint with your current cooler? It is important to understand that ensuring our CPUs are properly cooled is critically essential. But getting them as cool as possible is not. That is, a CPU running at 30°C is NOT have better performance, be more stable, or last longer than a CPU running at 55°C. As long as the CPU's remains comfortably within its specified operating range that is fine. OEM coolers, despite what many want us to believe, are actually really good coolers - much improved over those OEM coolers of yesteryear.

If your concern is noise, then that is different. I personally hate fan noise. But OEM coolers are much better at that than they were years ago too.

Having said that, as suggested by zapjb, the case plays an important role here. In fact, it is the case's responsibility to provide a sufficient flow of cool air through the case. The CPU fan need only toss the CPU's heat into that flow. I would inspect the case to see if you can an intake in front, or an exhaust fan in back - or replace those with bigger fans or fans that can move more air quietly. I note the case also plays a major role in suppressing fan noise too.

thanks for your reply. to answer your questions. I am running a ryzen 5 5600x and the standard amd wraith spiral rgb OEM cooler. and the damn thing is constantly spinning on high around 3000 rpm to keep the cpu temperature at around 40c. sometimes when opening a browser or open some apps the termal on cpu jump to high 50c. I feel I can not push this cpu to full or play demanding games or apps that would force the cooler to go beyond its max and damage it and also have a hot cpu. my case has 5 chasis fans too. the chassis fans spin at about 1500 rpm on average but the cpu fan since its turn on is constantly at high spin of around 3000 rpm. Now as room clearance. I have 4 ram slot with 4 rgb rams in it and since this is a mATX mobo there is a limit of size for a cpu fan. either the fan has to be thin or be high enough to tower over the ram(ram clearance). The tower is a also a matx tower. So the fan heat sink and fan needs to be high enough to tower over the ram and not too tall to hit the case panel. My measures for the width of the tower from the back panel edge to front panel edge is 21 cm so that would make a fan high of upto 16cm tall cpu fans and it should be ok. Also I have a wifi 6 netwiork card installed and the width of the cooler is limited from the wifi card in the left and ram number 4 on the right. I was thinking about coolers like nuctua and similar but their size may not fit my mobo.
some pics of cpu temp and fan.

OEM coolers in general will usually run much hotter than an aftermarket cooler, so getting an aftermarket, low profile CPU cooler isn't a bad idea.

Question - What are your average temperatures while gaming? You can use MSI Afterburner with in game overlay (CPU temperature) to find this out.

I am scared to game with this ome. Just opening a few apps send the temp to around 60c and the fan goes over 3000rpm. I do not want to cause issues with this new pc and new processor that cost me 340 dollars off amazon.

today I received this cpu fan and man it was in bad shape due to delivery. the package was crushed and the fan box was bent but the fan looked ok. Still am a bet nervous to use it on my new cpu. anyway here it is. I do not know if this is any better then the stock cooler. do you think this is better then the writh spiral or no.

First thing's first, stick with the following brands of coolers, as anything else is more than likely not that good.

    Brands to stick with...

    Noctua
    be quiet!
    Scythe
    Cooler Master
    ID Cooling
    Thermaltake
    Arctic
    DEEPCOOL
    Phanteks
    Corsair
    NZXT
    Zalman

As for the CPU cooler that came in the mail, I have never heard of that brand before. Be cautious with off name brands such as the one you got, it could be made out of low quality materials that might degrade quicker, especially if they throw in a low quality fan that has not so good fan bearings.

    Second...

70c while gaming won't hurt your CPU, a 5600x can handle a max temperature of 95c until it errors out on you.

Anything under 80c while gaming is fine, but if you want to get those temperatures even lower, buy a better cooler with positive feedback, don't pick just any cooler. Also, keep your case free of dust and keep your PC in a room that has a good ambient temperature.

Here are some low profile coolers that you might want to take a look at...

Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 Chromax Black Low Profile Cooler
    Scythe Big Shuriken 3
    ID COOLING IS-40X
be quiet! Shadow Rock LP, BK002

If you're not seeing temperatures above 70c, especially during this hot weather, I wouldn't worry about it. If it does bother you, then try out a better cooler to see if temperatures drop any.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, what case do you have? I am curious about your airflow.

50°C is NOT hot. It is not even very warm. So your temps are not an issue here unless you are seeing MUCH higher temps for extended periods when you really task your computer.

Fan noise, something I hate, could be a problem - at least for me.

How are your case fans configured? Typically, you want front-to-back flow with slight "over" or "positive" pressure. Positive pressure ensures all (or as much as possible) of the incoming air comes in only through the [hopefully filtered] intake vents instead of also through every unfiltered crack and port.

My personal experience with side panel fans is they are more disruptive to that desired flow than they do good. The exception is when the side panel fan blows directly into a tube that channels the air directly onto the CPU or GPU.

As in Micro-ATX? I'm trying to visualize five fans in that. So, Tyrizian's inquiry about what case you've got is a ditto from me.

But, I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that maybe, possibly (you never know), a close up photo or two of your case interior would go a long way in members helping you out with this.

I wouldn't let that YUOYING cooler within 10 feet of any PC. Even though it's got pure aluminum sheets and a fan that can be split separately.

AMD Wraith coolers have enjoyed a very good reputation as far as stock coolers go.

If by "spiral" you mean AMD's Spire, the one you linked to in #8 and #10 is not their Spire design but the MAX (PRISM version), an upgraded design of their original series having conventional heat pipes and symmetrical stacked fin radiators.

do these have ram clearance for my case? I mean high enough to tower over ram slots?

mine is a negative pressure I think since my home is very dusty. the case has front and top mesh. the front 2 fans are intake and the top 2 fans are exost setup. same as the 1 back fan as a exost.

i just ran a 10 minute cpu stress test via occt and the max temperature was 76.75c. So do you think the current wraith prism cooler is good? If it is then I will stay with it. Although its very noisy but the sound does not bother me. Right now is back down to 33 to 38c.

Judging by the look of your pictures, I would say you'll have the clearance for pretty much any of those coolers.

Reaching up to 76c in a OCCT stress test is actually not that bad at all, especially during the summer months we are in. OCCT will also give higher temperature readings, since it is putting your system through much more stress than a gaming session would, so I would say you really have nothing to worry about.

Your Wraith cooler is doing it's job nicely for what it is capable of and isn't that bad of a cooler. But, if you want to achieve lower fan speeds with possible lower temperatures, then you really can't go wrong with an aftermarket cooler.

Honestly, if fan noise isn't an issue for you, I really wouldn't worry too much about your current cooler.

thx. I will keep it then. So will the constant high speed spinning of the fan reduce its life cycle? I eman will it die faster over time?

If the Wraith cooler is at that speed all the time, then yes it will. If you have it set to only ramp up during higher CPU temperatures (when necessary), then I wouldn't worry about it.

Now, what you could do is go into your BIOS and mess with your fan curves (If you are comfortable doing so) to see if you can achieve close to the same temperatures, with much lower fan speeds.
