I have had BSOD problems after installing WSVX v3 ("pagefault in non paged area") . Not just after installing, but several hours later. It happened 3 times, these BSOD being related to WideVectorFW64.sys.

The earlier alert box screenshot that I posted as a bug I obviously since remanded.
A reboot reorients that skinny scroll slider back to it's original setting again.

Decopi- Just go to any of my past videos for a CF step by step; as to WVSX, so far I've seen no real need to use anything but the default setup (but please note web protection bores me, so to that I can't speak).

Even after exiting WSVX in systray, there is on my system a residual WSVX occurrence preventing me to uninstall. Plus, I initially wanted to keep the same exclusions, leading me to install v3 on v2 in order to keep things simple. As it didn't work very well on my system, I finally uninstalled v2, rebooted and installed v3.

I don't know if you already noticed it or not but there is a Export Config in the Rules window for that Feature.

But I haven't found the Export for Exclusions yet if it's even there. Only a Save As for the LOG but naturally that's not a export/import feature in this particular Beta release.

For people using v3, is there a lot of popups?

Short answer, NO. You can fill in your own rules which will undoubtedly initiate some pop ups. But since installing ver 3 I seen no pop ups whatsoever except the Document/Pictures Protections which I test manually and that's a separate feature of course under Setting->Advanced->Document Protection.

As for the HIPS in default Automatic Mode I seen zilch-none. I don't know what I need to do to trigger HIPS yet.

As for Networking YES there was a few on my 2 days running it but only Testing outbound test files designed to grab WVSX attention to it now they have that included. (as well as Palemoon Browser i use as alternative) That WAS NOT A TEST but WVSX alerted to connection outbound.

It's been set and forget. No annoying ongoing pop ups we been use to seeing in other HIPS featured products.

Yes, only Remove/Add/Close for exclusions in v3 (as in v2 as if I remember correctly). And I found nothing in AppData or ProgrammData storing (at least in a readable form) the exclusions that have already been set. So I just had to redefine my exclusion again in v3, but it was not so much work: WSVX produces significantly less FP than other AV or AM, so the list of exclusions I had set was not so long.

Not on my side. WSVX is quite discreet.

We will need be filled in by our most generous @WiseVector Dev to bring everyone current on it.

But from the looks of it I would venture (just) a guess that the HIPS Feature (along with pop ups) will have to do with user's preferences setting up your own choice configuration rules. Which seems to make some sense to me, whereby WVSX main protection mechanisms operate separately; and adding our HIPS rules of choice falls to us. Thereby, if I read it right, keeps the Main Program doing it's job as already is, and adding our own HIPS Rules will compliment it's solid already built-in features we seen in action.

Only speculating but WiseVector Dev can clarify that either way for us.

I'm getting ready to try WiseVector again to see what has changed since I tried it a few months ago. It appears a lot has changed. The last time I tried WiseVector it created a bunch of folders and files on one of my NAS drives, which was not desirable. It was kind of a pain to take permission of the folders and files in order to delete them. Does WiseVector still create a bunch of folders and files on NAS drives (assuming it's part of it's ransomeware protection)?? I would like to avoid creating such folders and files.

A few months ago when I tried WiseVector it seemed to be a very good complement to Eset Internet Security, but now WiseVector also has a Firewall component, so i'm not sure if they can still be used together. I remember the developer saying they were going to use WFP (Windows Filtering Platform) instead of a minifilter driver. Since Eset Also uses WFP they should not be compatible in theory. I'm going to give it a try in Virtual Box first to see what I think.

Where do I get the latest beta version of WiseVector StopX? The version I downloaded from the website and installed does not appear to be what others are using in the thread.

I just received a reply from WiseVector, saying that they are analysing the dump file to find the cause of the crash.
    You're welcome.

Beautiful @WiseVector- With this RULES/HIPS one can literally & strategically assign any user's determined choice of folder with an Alert sequence-include highly fine granular permissions-and virtually contain/interrupt the call (of course files as well), to enhance an already powerful series of WVSX protections natively already built into the program. And still in keeping with it's lite architecture
Not since the glory days of EQSysSecure has it been possible to prevent OR alerting to even as simple as a creating of a folder have I seen anything of this. And user EXPORT/IMPORT their own personalized HIPS Rules! Network alike.

Also appears it might just achieve that registry niche been looking to complete.

    Hi,
Thanks for your feedback! Can you please send the dump file to support@wisevector.com? It can help us to find the cause of the crash.

    Hi everyone!

Here is the update log of beta 3.0:
    WiseVector StopX V3.00 Beta
    June 21, 2021

    1. Added firewall, web protection, network intrusion detection.

    2. Both HIPS and firewall support security level adjustment. Users can adjust the security level according to their needs.

    3. Add support to write HIPS and firewall rules. Users can write rules according to their needs to get better protection.

    4. Improved the process injection detection, added multiple multi-step models to detect malicious programs using advanced injection techniques.

    5. Improved stealer malware detection, in addition to the already exists multi-step models, we added multiple single-step models based on artificial intelligence and reputation. When a program that is not trusted by the AI and trying to access the user’s sensitive data, such as username and password saved in the browser, cryptocurrency wallet data, etc. WiseVector StopX will prompt the user to allow or deny each operation detected. This is a good strategy against some stealer malware that utilized bat files, lnk files, Python scripts to harvest user’s data . Although the code of these malware is relatively simple, the attack is very tricky to detect by multi-step models.

    6. Enhanced stability and reliability of behavior monitoring. For example, driver loading, Webcam access, scheduled task creation monitoring is more efficient and stable than before.

    7. Other bug fixes.

    Download at: https://update2.wisevector.com/WiseVector_StopX_V30.exe

Recommended for experienced users to download and test.
