Same guy 'Val' owns both programs and its more of a stripped down lite weight brner and NO nothing is better than BurnAware
Doesn't seem like anyone is bothered to answer you from back in March @Spartan which leads me to think a no answer is likely the response. Fancy names don't make a reliable product until it's proven to be on the level. BurnAware apparently continues to be the standard others can compare burners to. Although there are some useful contenders around.
Right, that's what I thought. My only gripe with Burnaware Free is it tries to install a PUP and even if you opt-out. If you run a virus scan with an AV that detects PUPs, it appears even as its setup files remain somewhere in the system. You see, I tune and optimize customers' laptops when we sell them and if they saw something like this, it doesn't leave a good impression they would be like wow so we told you to install your recommended apps and there was a virus detected, they wouldn't understand this whole PUP thing.
Wasn't aware of that @Spartan. Thanks. The nerve of them. Pup is a pup and it's certainly not needed nor can make them pocket change of any significance if you ask me. I run BurnAware when I do in a Portable fashion so maybe I jettisoned that useless entry.
NP. I use the paid version so no PUPs in that but the free version is a no go to install for friends or customers. I know how to opt out it's just the fact that it leaves the installer behind even if you run CCleaner to delete temp files so it gets flagged by your AV when running a scan doesn't leave a good impression for anyone. Seems like they hide the PUP installer in a non-standard temp location which is why it stays on the machine.
