They haven't showed us what it is yet. Looks like they are going to make us wait until the 24th.

I believe most of the stuff was already presented in the Win 10 Sun Valley preview, but perhaps I misunderstood. I don't think I will be upgrading to Windows 11 though. I don't need the GUI redesign and I wouldn't be surprised if the Windows Store and Windows Update will still suck. Plus who knows what stuff it might break, even a simple update already caused high CPU usage on my Win 10 1909 system, luckily I was able to uninstall. But somehow this uninstall did manage to break the Win Store and the Win Taskbar, what a joke.

    hi
is there a way to download the iso (windows 10 pro in my case ) via a downloader manager or torrent legal and legally ?
MediaCreationTool21H1 is slow and can not find a resume ,i would like to download only the iso and create an usb stick to update my laptops
I have tried even to run MediaCreationTool21H1 sandboxie to be sure to download only the iso , but it doesn't run under sandboxie
    thanks

I simply used the Windows ISO Downloaded linked above, hit download, then it opened up a browser with that link so I copy/pasted the link. It's an official Microsoft link

Feel free to check the file hashes and Google it, you will see that it's genuine untouched

My pleasure. BTW, the link I provided is for the 64-Bit US English ISO. If you need any other language let me know.

After all that, it turns out I can get News and Interests simply by switching my Taskbar to the bottom of the screen. It's probably been lurking there the whole time. Geez, so simple. Anyway, I saw it in its glory and now it's banished since the taskbar is at the top again. :)

    Credit for the "fix."

Interesting. I would have never thought of that as I never move mine from the default location. Unfortunately when I tried to hide News and interests it took out the tray icons and clock with it. I think this still needs a lot of work.

Thanks imdb, it was one of those niggling little things that went on for way too long.

Well, it seems many prefer the Taskbar at the bottom and stick with it, same for me with the top configuration so the choice was really no choice. If I absolutely HAVE to read the News all the time, I can pin it to my Taskbar just fine.

There was this rumor back when N & I was first coming out and that involved Cortana needing to be enabled in order for that to show up and work properly. I have Cortana disabled and the widget works as intended. Never needed Cortana anyway, right?

yep. i have cortana not only disabled but also completely removed and n&i works perfectly fine. however, i disabled it right after i got the update. for my money, n&i is just another tool for telemetry and i don't need it.

It is my understanding that it is a known issue if you set your scaling to something that is not 100%. This and it did not happen immediately.

I read the same thing about cortana weeks ago but i already had it disabled. I still got the news on my taskbar after the June updates.

oh, i see. maybe we should ask @Rasheed187 if he could reproduce this issue because he's using custom scaling too (125% if i'm not mistaken).

Oh yeah, that's right--Rasheed would know about that.

I looked up Windows 10 (soon to be Windows 11 come October 14th they say) pro, that's ain't cheap any more. 200 USD for a usb at Micro Center. Still ain't cheap for Home either at 140 USD. Pro has the Group Policy, was why this was brought up and I don't use a bootleg enabler any more.

I disabled Cortana via the registry, as well as at startup. You just never know with these things. :cautious:

According to Microsoft, you can upgrade to the Windows 11 versions Home , Pro and Mobile for free.
