    MRG Effitas 360 Degree Assessment & Certification Q1 2021

    https://www.mrg-effitas.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/MRG_Effitas_360_2021Q1.pdf

A first look leaves me somewhat confused. The "Executive Summary"
    on page 4 says:

"Out of ten tested security products, the following eight managed to meet
the specification to attain our Q1 2021 360 Degree Certification."

The list includes ESET but not Trend Micro.

But on page 5 it says:

"Under the MRG Effitas 360 Degree Assessment & Certification, the
following products were certified for Q1 2021."

That list includes Trend Micro but not ESET.

OK so seems like Malwarebytes has been improved quite a lot. Avira performed quite badly overall. And Win Defender didn't perform too well in the exploit/fileless test. And to clarify, this test was not about the consumer versions, it was about the corporate "endpoint security" versions, but still nice to know. I can't say for sure if the consumer based versions would have performed the same.

At least for Malwarebytes its consumer version would have the same or almost the same results.

How are you so sure about this? Remember that older versions always performed quite badly. It's almost like they acquired some new tech or something. Also, I think it's likely that Win Defender would have performed the same, since there is no Win Def Pro version AFAIK.

1- Because I know the product very well.

2- Because Pedro Bustamante (head of research and innovation at malwarebytes) confirmed that.

OK thanks, this is some interesting information and means I can finally take Malwarebytes serious again.

Refer to page 4 where it notes Eset was one of the tested products certified for all test categories.

Page 5 however states products certified at Level 1 and 2. In other words, Eset was not certified at those Levels.
