Ok, I thought it was worth testing so I tried to put the card back. It does not lock, there is no click. Pushing after inserting it does nothing. It is just a push/pull slot. I am disappointed that as expensive as this thing was that it does not work as you described as I would expect it should. Fortunately I was able to get it out easier this time as I was able to get a better look at it and see the little raised portion and get just enough of a grip to pull it. I have no intention of ever using this slot again.

Indeed, that's very unprofessional honestly from such a big and old company. This release IMO hasn't been great. At least if you're gonna make an official announcement on the website, have the downloader download the correct version before publicly announcing it. I've been saying this for a while now, quality control is non-existent at Macrium.

Yeah that's been the same for a while, it's just the download agent but the problem is not that downloader, it's the fact that it's getting v7 off their servers instead of v8 for free users despite the announcement. If you enter a Home license key, then that same downloader will download the latest v8 no problem so it's best to grab the free V8 from the link I posted above until they fix this mess. @stapp From the link you provided above, it says: It has no mention of V8 Free being available yet. The downloader can download any Macrium versions without entering the key, simply create copies of the downloader and rename them. reflectdl.exe - Home, Free reflectdlhf.exe -Free reflectdlfull.exe - Home, WS, S, S + Note: Free temporary unpossible.
I don't understand why you trash a Company's release control when they haven't even made the release yet. All that's been available here in the Forum to date has been "in the wild" when it comes to the FREE edition. The only OFFICIAL Macrium announcement concerning the FREE edition has been "try the HOME edition and if you don't want to license it, it will automatically revert to FREE in 30-days." Instead of trashing the Company, why don't you be patient and wait for the official release.
I can't agree with you. For me it was one of best releases so far. Program updated from within app with no problems. All my settings remained intact, all scheduled task were retained, everyday backup run without problems. I can only congratulate company and beta testers for great work with this version. Regarding installing free version - if it was officially not released then that's their decision. If you use installer from link officially not released then you take your own chances. Only thing I would change on their site would be to explicitly showing that Free version is still on v.7.
Agreed. This is not yet released. You can buy the paid version, wait, or use it anyway and accept that it, again, isn't released yet. Everyone can complain if they want I guess, but it's not a valid complaint.
This is still not the wild version, but the official version downloaded from the official link. It's just that Macrium is postponing the announcement of the free version, believing that some of the users out of impatience will use the paid version, and the servers and home page needs to be prepared. In any case, the desire of users to get Free today only adds marketing advantages to the program. If Macrium didn't like this, it would have chopped off the Free version download entirely.
As a follow up to this the reply from support was: "The crash is due to the Nahomic audio driver causing a compatibility issue" That may be possible as the sd card was filled with only audio files. It has not happened at all prior to inserting the sd card though. Or since. I'm not terribly worried about it though I did follow their suggestion regardless. Edit: After doing some research I was able to determine that the sd card slot does click and eject though I could not get it to when I first complained. After applying the fix of excluding the sound driver and Reflect from interfering with each other all seems to be working as expected. Just in case anyone wondered.

That's the same URL as the site I looked at. It seems that they have different contents on the english and on the german version of their site. (For me the german version opens automatically. I found no option to change the language.)
