Funnily enough, this test is wrong, I have some of the apps that the test says I don't have

That said, a temporary bandaid that stops the checking of apps to make an identifier, is this

Bam, ez fix. For chromium-based browsers that is. If someone wants to find how to fix it for firefox-based browser, go ahead. I got other stuff to do lul

Doing the test on Firefox lists all kinds of applications as installed, even though I don´t have them installed. It works correctly on Brave though.

Maybe it's one of the various firefox randomization fingerprinting bla bla bla what not they have. I don't use firefox so I wouldn't know. I usually don't concern myself with other browsers as the vast majority of people use Chrome.

And now calculate how many of those other browsers are based on Chromium. Safari is not even for Windows, it's for macOS. IE is a joke. It's either old grandmas or grandpas, or businesses who use IE because they still have activeX stuff that they need from 2005. Opera is chromium-based. QQ is based on chromium too, I think. So is Sogou Explorer. And Yandex. And Brave.

So like, out of all windows users, about 6-7% use firefox and that's it. The other 93-94% use chromium-based browsers. Ofc, the one notable exception is Tor. Which I don't care too much about, but when I do have to use Tor, it matters.

This forum happens to have a lot more firefox users because everyone is paranoid. But in reality, firefox is almost irrelevant.

When the company I work for develops software, I'm like, ok what about compatibility with other browsers? And the boss is like, LMFAO dude, everyone and their mum uses chromium, and i'm like, ok cool. Ok I might have slightly exaggerated the response.

And when was it ever good for the consumer when there is no underdogs for a product giant present? I'd rather have a choice for a brower than only chrome forks down the road...

Chrome = Sheep ------- > unless there is a specific need. I keep Chrome in a VM for those rare instances.

Chrome is the fastest and most secure browser there is (or Chromium that is). With some privacy tweaks or ungoogled build etc. you'll be just fine. Now, I have personal reasons why I must use Chrome even if I don't wanna (but I do), like the Dev Tools, but even for avg user it makes sense.

I am glad Chrome works for you! As forum "buddies" we will agree to disagree and I am good with that. The percentage of Chrome users with an ungoogled build has to be smaller than FF users. Happy browsing!!
