I got an email from Macrium and it said "The release was delayed. We hope to have it out by the end of today."
At least you got a decent reply. I opened a support ticket with them asking for my account order list to be updated to include a v8 key as per their own instruction page for my currently supported v7 that I had just renewed, or to send me the v8 key. They just emailed me that they arbitrarily closed the ticket, with no reason at all given. I used to run a help desk as a team leader for a customer support software company, a ticket was not closed by the technician without reason and not until the customer said it was OK to close it. If they just closed it to improve their call stats, they would have had a black mark. If they had said something like 'The keys will be sent out to those entitled in the near future", or any valid reason, like " You are not entitled to an upgrade" - which I could challenge as that is why I renewed, I would not been so annoyed. If they had said, it's delayed till later today (or whenever) I'd have accepted that. They should have left the ticket open till then, at least.
I installed it, the moment you run it, it prompts to update it, if you try to update, it wants to install v7 latest version. So much for testing for months when such basic things are overlooked. Here is the ISO file if you don't want to instal it and simply want to create a bootable rescue disk = https://mega.nz/file/2eYDyAAI#ze1Av1rHsDkSi3Q3zh13WbImp8BbY1lHvCiYLaU672c
I'm running 8.0.5903 Server and when I check for updates, I get a popup saying no updates are available. There's nothing about V7, and the update functionality also worked perfectly fine throughout the V8 beta. Maybe wait for a larger sample size of data before passing judgment on testing?
When I check I get this: After choosing Now I'm redirected to: Edit: also home page is now: https://www.macrium.com/8-home
I didn't check for updates manually. The moment I installed it and ran it, it promoted me for an update. So I thought maybe they just did a last-minute update but after the update downloaded, I noticed it was wanting to install the latest v7 again so I canceled it and never bothered checking for updates again to not invoke that update. Anyway, glad it's finally here now.
I now get a Me too. I did manage to copy the v8 key from one popup before it failed download. Maybe we'll get the mess straightened out soon. I'll try d/l the trial and updating it with my new v8 key. It might even work...
I'll be upgrading. I'm going to wait for things to settle down a little. They are probably getting overwhelmed at the moment.
Tried again and it worked. The new UI is nice. And Windows File Manager now has the Backup Method column back - yay.
The Explorer columns can disappear as a result of Windows 10 feature release upgrades. But they can be brought back fairly easily by running the commands shown in this KB article.
