In October, Sweden announced the ban of Chinese tech companies Huawei and ZTE from building its 5G network infrastructure. The ban aims at new installations and new implementation of central functions for the radio use in the frequency bands.

The Federal Communications Commission said Nov. 19 that it plans to consider a report and order at its Dec. 10 open meeting that would require some telecommunications service providers to remove and replace equipment in their networks that pose “unacceptable risks” to U.S. national security.

The FCC in 2019 designated China-based equipment providers Huawei and ZTE as posing national security threats to the integrity of U.S. communications networks and related supply chains.
The FCC’s proposed draft order says it would cover “eligible telecommunications carriers (ETCs)” – meaning those that are eligible to receive support under Universal Service Fund programs administrated by the FCC.

I don't get it. They outsource work to technicians from Huawei then are suprised these Huawei staff can potentially access information on infrastructure indeed operated by Huawei. It's like I would give you my login, password and 2FA codes to my banking account and let you pay my bills for little fee on each transaction then be surprised and disgusted that you could ("have ability") to steal from my bank account. Do they really need a report/audit on that to realize potential threats from outsourcing work?
