Is it possible to hide a VPN from a website?

    Some websites don't allow users on VPN's. Can a VPN be hidden from a website?

    I was on a forum for years and they recently stopped allowing them.

    I've never been able to understand why forums or webpages on security matters put clues to the content of the page right into the url. It seems to me that it attracts attention to it. In this url it says 'undetectable-vp' etc.
    Maybe it's just me but it doesn't seem to make good sense.
