I downloaded Autoruns v 13.99 (which was also updated today) but it crashes every time I run it.

Just tried it, got the exact same result so it must be a bug which will be addressed soon.

Interestingly, no such problem here with 13.99 on 21364 (and 21359). I normally just use autoruns.exe but also tried autoruns64.exe.

    Autoruns v 13.99:
    a) Same here for autoruns64.exe, it crashes.
    b) autoruns.exe checked, it works.

Version 13.100, hide windows entries option is not applied correctly. Also Autoruns64 results are different from Autoruns results. I'm back to version 13.98, the latest version that works good for me.

I have always used Autoruns64.exe only. Does one need to use both? I mean does one find entries the other doesn't or is the non-64 bit version for Windows 32-Bit only?

I install the 32-bit version only. The 64-bit version has been trouble-prone.

There is nothing to install. It's a portable app

If your PC is x64, then you just need the Autoruns64.exe, you don't even need the .dll file that comes with it, so you can delete that too to save (a micro amount of) space, lol.

Technically it's portable because all there is to it is a single executable, but it's really not as it saves settings into the registry.

I use zipinstall to effectively install such utilities. That way they show up in Programs and Features and software inventory utilities.

(I use autoruns in admin scripts that track what is installed on all the computers of a small business. These scripts feed a repository of inventories that make it possible to see what is installed on each machine, what has changed, and when. Problems with early versions of autoruns64 made it a PITA to no real benefit, so I discontinued using it. The 32-bit version works just fine for my purposes.)
