    Hello @tgraf66,

there is a difference between :
    1. the Indexing service of Windows (Wsearch indexing) that indexes your files on your PC to speed up the file search process through Windows Explorer for instance.
The index created by Windows is stored in the file C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Windows.edb
    2. The INDEX attributes of MFT entries.
Each file on your drive has an entry in the file table (MFT) that stores informations on your files like their name and a list of thesector's occupied by the file.
Concerning directories, they have also entries in the MFT but as they are directories, its MFT entry must also store a list of files (the list of the files stored in the directory),
otherwise how would it be possible to know which files are in which directories on a drive?

Thus, in the scan list of PrivaZer, you have :
    1. "Traces in the MFT" -> INDEX attributes, that scans the MFT and the list of files for directories that may contain leftovers of previously deleted files.
    2. "Indexing", that scans the content of the Windows.edb file with the options depicted below :

    Hope it helps,

Thank you for the clarification. :) I apologize for not knowing the difference.

    @The_PrivaZer_Team - two things, please:

    1) Curious - is there any update re: the title bars? I asked that the issue of them losing color be fixed. Any progress ... ?

    2) Question - Brave Browser is becoming more popular. I use Brave. Any hope for PrivaZer to improve cleaning of Brave?

@The_PrivaZer_Team - thank you very much!

@The_PrivaZer_Team I seem to recall at some point in this thread that Privazer is unable to clear last used USB connections. However, I noticed in the options under Windows History that there is a check box for that, but if I tick that box, back out of that menu, and then go back into the menu, that box is not ticked again. Does that mean that functionality is still not actually available yet?

@The_PrivaZer_Team - wanted to follow up on my earlier question re: the UI and the title bar situation.

    Please go here: https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/mmtex2/the_new_tab_design_is_less_compact_and_rather/

You can see how many people on Reddit have been complaining about changes to Firefox's UI. Many criticisms are valid, I think.

I myself have stopped using Firefox because of their UI decisions. I am not the only one. Firefox's engine is good, but their UI is not.

My point is, UI counts. Program stability and capabilities are important, yes. Of course. But UI is important, too. Consistency, etc.

I hope you take this point to heart, and consider making a few changes to how PrivaZer is coded to ensure a more consistent UI.

I sincerely hope you are not offended. PrivaZer is a very, very good program. The UI just needs to be more refined. Thanks!

Sorry for late reply. The log is not the issue, but the difference in repairing between the Windows commands and Privazer. Windows commands report errors. Ran Privazer system files and image repair, both completed succesfully. But Windows commands reports still the same errors. So, what is the difference?

@The_PrivaZer_Team - sorry; just one very LAST point of feedback to help you guys improve the UI/UX ...

See below picture. This window keeps changing positions every time I run the cleanup in PrivaZer. It's annoying ... :-(

Can you please make it so that the window stays in the SAME position every time the cleanup runs? Thank you so much!

P.S.: I think this will be the very last request I have to make for a long time to come ... I hope you follow through on it ...

P.P.S.: Hope this change can be made before the next actual release, too! (Thanks again!)

P.P.P.S.: Just FYI - the window has gone past the taskbar a few times - I had to move it back ...

Shellbag AnalyZer + Cleaner. A fabulous standalone program. Speeds up low ends for a fact!

yes, it's a great sw but i don't see how it speeds up low-ends? what do you mean by that? it's just a tool to delete (obsolete) reg keys and that's all there's to it. :cautious:

It's won't speed up anything human noticeable, but the reg hive is just like one giant text file.

Ever open a config file or similar that's over 5MB's in size compared to one that's only 50KB's in size? The 5MB one will take longer to load for sure, this is an extreme case, but removing unused entries in a file will speed up load/read times for whichever program needs to open them.

@The_PrivaZer_Team - wanted to follow up on my previous post about the window situation. Just cleaned my internet traces manually, and this happened. The window popped up, and part of it was hidden under the taskbar. You can see from the picture here (see below) how it looked. The buttons on the bottom of the window were blocked from view. Am sure you guys can see how that would present users with a problem if they can't access the buttons on the window right away. It's a valid issue that legitimately needs fixing, and an area of the UI/UX that needs improvement, for sure.

Best to have the window stay in the same spot every time it comes up. I hope this will be fixed soon. Big thanks!

@imdb - that is good feedback. Hopefully @The_PrivaZer_Team will follow up on it. The more "polished" a product is (especially "donationware" like PrivaZer), the more people will be likely to spend money on it.
