    I have only seen these threads, I don't think there is a good motivation for removal of the compact mode density option from the customize panel:
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1693028 -->
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1693028#c81 -->
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1703254

    Yes. If they really think they need to hide an option, they could hide the 'Normal' density option, and keep Compact, and Touch for who needs that option.

    @Brummelchen,
    I suppose you meant the browser.compactmode.show -> true switch was already mentioned? Correct.
    My Wednesday's post was to report that Mozilla set up a support article to document that.

    ;)

    based on the fact that proton kept my compact mode there has to be a switch inside, found it ;)
    there is nothing bad on your answer and hint to mozillas article.

    what i can say meanwhile that proton (current nightlies) starts with the normal mode and switch back to compact, i can see a "bump" for a part of a second. as long the compact mode is supported there exist the option to investigate about the internal style sheets. my current style for the hamburger and overhang menu (for extensions) is still used.

    for me it is just luck, mozilla have done worse to remove the compact mode instantly at all.

    Just updated. Thanks @JRViejo

    Also just installed a nightly build to check out the new Proton redesign. Not bad! It seems to be getting a lot of hate but I do not mind it myself.

    Changed
    FTP support has been disabled, and its full removal is planned for an upcoming release. Addressing this security risk reduces the likelihood of an attack while also removing support for a non-encrypted protocol.
    New
    PDF forms now support JavaScript embedded in PDF files. Some PDF forms use JavaScript for validation and other interactive features.

    In terms of browser safety, isnt that like 1 step forward and 2 steps back?

    @drhu22 This seems like the way with Mozilla of late. I can't believe they removed view page info. Why?

    Regarding 'View Page Info', the option is removed from context menu, but still it can be accessed in three ways:
    Ctrl+I
    Alt > Tools > Page Info
    Padlock on address bar > Arrow button (Show Connection Details) > More Information

    For Firefox 89, In the Ghacks article Ashwin also mentions browser.menu.showViewImageInfo to restore View Page Info, but I think that is not correct.
    According to Mozilla this is to re-introduce the 'View Image Info' item (which is not the same as 'View Page Info') in the image context menu:
    about:config browser.menu.showViewImageInfo true
