Didn't know sbie installer does a clean up routine to Sandboxie.ini... That must be the cause.

Are you going to fix that as a priority and I wait for a quick fix or not?

Many thanks david, x86 verson 5.49.5 installed perfectly [re-boot required] over the top of 5.49 on a spare Windows 7 box, and up to now running well...

Will install on other systems later, they`re busy encoding at the moment,

No, I'd not found hashes with webpage. I thought you were also asking for hashes here.

This security software has digitally signed all its installers. I don't see necessity for hashes.

Weird. Actually I have two more local templates with these names:
    [Template_BlockDeviceAccess]
    [Template_BlockFoldersAccess]
They weren't affected by the auto clean up ffeature

    Only [Template_FileSystemAPI] was affected.
After reboot I added this line back to sandboxie.ini manually, everything is ok now.

Just to let you know David, after installing 0.7.3 this window popped up and it reappeared after rebooting again and again again until I clicked ok button, then sandboxie.ini was finally cleaned up and modified deleting such line.

Is there a way to have/use Sandboxie Classic, installed etc., but also have another seperate folder for Sandboxie Plus (as portable), and use Sandboxie Plus as needed, maybe tweaking the ini that is located in c/Windows, only with user consent?

I've tried doing this setup, but the very second I start Sandboxie Plus/SandMan it already adds **** to my .ini file, making "default box" and a bunch of other crap I did now allow.

    hi @DavidXanatos
    is v0.7.3 / 5.49.5 a pre -release ?
    is v0.7.2 / 5.49.0 the most stable for windows 7 ?
is Provisional.Windows.7.Drivers.zip even for the classic version?
    thanks

How can I open image and video files in Windows 10, using the sandboxed file explorer?
The Windows 10 apps, which are the default programs for those file types, don't seem to work in sandbox, and when I right-click on such a file and select "Open with/Choose another app", it doesn't work. I want to change the file type association only in the sandbox, not in the real system.

Another question about the sandboxed file explorer: if I delete a file, where does it go? I don't see it in the recycle bin.

BTW, is it true that if you allow full or direct acess to the Downloads and Documents folder, those exact names aren't added to the list in Sandbox Settings? If so, can this be changed? I'm speaking about Sandboxie Classic not about SBIE Plus. You now see why I wanted to make a separate thread? Now you will always have to mention whether you are using the Plus or Classic version.

I believe you are trying to open those pics in UWP apps and those apps don't work in Sandboxie since they run in their own sandbox. And it's true that if you delete certain sandboxed files they won't show up in the recyle bin. I have no idea where they end up.

You just click the videos and pictures and they will run sandboxed using what you have set as default when navigating to this type of files via a sandboxed explorer. In your case, since you have the W10 apps set as default, that will not work. Windows apps are not compatible with Sandboxie.

Right clicking and choosing to run the video with something different than my default player does work for me when using a sandboxed File Explorer. I tried before changing file type association only in the sandbox and couldn't do it.

About where the deleted file goes. When we delete something in sandboxed File Explorer we are not deleting anything. Perhaps that is why we dont see anything go to Recycle bin when you click to delete something.

    Thanks, Bo.
About the last point: I downloaded Libreoffice, via sandboxed Firefox. Then, via the sandboxed File Explorer, I installed it. Then I deleted the installer, via the sandboxed File Explorer. Was the installer permanently deleted?

That is true but the correct name of your Downloads folder will be appear in Sandbox settings if the folder you use for downloads is one that you create. Example, if you create a folder and name it RasheedDownloads, and set Opera to have Direct access to it, the name of the folder will be visible in Sandbox settings. The numbers we see if we direct access the system's Downloads folder are linked to the System's Download folder.

If you minimize Sandboxed Explorer, and look for the Libre installer using a regular explorer you should be able to find it exactly where you have it. For example, if you originally downloaded the installer to your Desktop, and afterward you opened the sandboxed explorer, and you deleted the copy of the installer via a sandboxed explorer, the real installer will still be there in your real Desktop. This would work the same with any file you delete while using a sandboxed Explorer. In other words, whatever you delete in a sandboxed File Explorer will not delete the real files.

OK thanks, so you need to create your own folder. I still think that Sandboxie should correctly show the folder name and not use some cryptic name. Perhaps David can fix this in both the Classic and Plus version.

That name with numbers comes from Windows. Even in the register the Downloads folders is referred as %{374DE290-123F-4565-9164-39C4925E467B}%\. The Download folder is not the only folder Windows names this way.

Is this what you guys are discussing?
    1) new TestBox with default restrictions
    2) add Windows folders + remove default recovery folders + Apply

bjm, Rasheed was talking about what is added (%{374DE290-123F-4565-9164-39C4925E467B}%\) to the Resource access>File access>Direct or Full access Window when you allow access to Windows Download folder.

I don't use Windows Download folder but this is what it looks like when you add Direct File Access to Bo>Downloads with 5.33.6. Historically, this has always worked like this in SBIE, but according to your pictures, what I gather is that it has changed in David's builds.

I added Direct from Plus UI 0.7.3 and it was reflected with Classic UI 5.49.5 -- #148.
When I add Direct from Classic UI 5.49.5. I see %{374DE290-123F-4565-9164-39C4925E467B}%\
