My first PM was KeePass with a browser extension. It was really great. The only issue was to sync across all my devices. Sometimes I forgot to update the database on my phone or other devices. That's a trade-off of privacy vs convenience.

So has anyone found a viable replacement for LP?

    Have you tried 1Password?

    Okay :thumb:
A paid alternative would be 1Password.

    @LoneWolf was faster :eek:
I did a trial of 1Password, but personally liked Bitwarden more.
I think those 2 are the best alternatives to LastPass right now.

Thanks guys. I have tried 1Password in the past and it is ok, but always had issues with importing passwords from other password managers.

As far as Bitwarden is concerned, I feel like it struggles with most sites wit autofill. That is the main reason I was looking to try something new. Thanks!

I imported my passwords from LastPass to 1Password without any issues, this was fairly recently. Perhaps this was an issue that is no longer.

Bitwarden, in my experience, struggles to do the basics like saving new logins & performing autofills (even with option enabled). It has the upside of being cross platform/device still though.

@LoneWolf Interesting. I always had issues with it.

@JasonUK Agreed. What are you using?

I don't use a password manager on mobile devices so LastPass is still fine for me even with new restrictions. I'm also using, on my desktop & laptops, KeePassXC together with its browser extension. KeePassXC stores the encrypted passwords locally on your computer rather than online which I prefer even though you've then got the issue of syncing to overcome but that's no great hurdle. If I had to I'd rather pay for either Lastpass/1Password than use Bitwarden which doesn't do the basics consistently (in my experience).

Maybe I will try KeePassXC. But yeah, managing it is likely a pain. Thanks for your reply.

Same here. I'll wait for LastPass to start charging / limiting passwords or do away with the Free Version before I switch to Bitwarden or some other password manager. You kind of know that is coming with LastPass in the near future by their track record.

We have kept Lastpass as it does work and we are just using it on our Computers so far. We had always had issues with our Phones and tablet so for now we just keep using it on our Computer(s).

I too grudgingly paid up for LastPass. It's just soooooo easy to sync across desktops, laptops, phones and tablets! But I'm always open to any new contenders in the arena.

To me Lastpass was a backup, but now replaced with Bitwarden.

I may be an outlier here, but my preferred password manager has always been Roboform Everywhere (since before Lastpass). No issues with saving passwords or autofill.
    Also not free though.

Be aware that once you have paid for it they default you to automatic renewal and the price will be more next time. You may not have a problem with that. I just want to be sure you are aware.

I will probably passively continue to use the free version of LastPass on computers until it gets more painful to do so. I didn't use the mobile version anyway. I uninstalled it from my phone to make sure I did not get locked into the mobile version. I'm still going to look for a replacement. A password manager should not cost more than a security suite.

Does anyone know once you subscribe to LastPass and they have your credit card number, is it easy to unsubscribe when the time is up or do you have to jump through hoops to do it?

It wasn't too difficult the last time I did it. I was just unaware it was necessary as I thought it was opt-in and it was opt-out instead.

Ya, I'll look into that. I don't do auto-renew for anything if I can help it!

Never tried Roboform but have heard of it over the years. How are you enjoying Bitwarden?

Not experienced any issues - but haven't used it much (yet), Roboform being my primary and what I'm used to!

Anyone getting this nag drop down on Lastpass? I get it about once a week now since they changed their Free Policy.
