I am facing problems with someone giving my phone number to different sites to generate and send OTPs at different times throughout the day. Recently someone used my number to register me (with a fake name) requesting call back from a company.

One company in its response sent the IP logged from where such a request came. This is an IPv6 address. Is it possible using any tool to track it back to the original user?

I think I have posted it in the wrong section. How do I move it to a more relevant section? Sorry for the inconvenience.

Can I post it privately to you?

Yes. However, publicly posting the source's IP address is not a privacy issue.

Per Robex lookup, the IP address is associated with:
Appears they have merged with Vodafone and are now known as Vodafone Idea Limited: https://www.vodafoneidea.com/

I assume what is going on here is similar to if someone was to track the source of my IP address. What is shown is the IP address assigned to a server of my ISP closest to me.

I also ran a tracert on the IP address you provided. Output is below. Network traffic is going through Cogentco in Hong Kong to Idea Cellular in India.

Thanks @itman . I checked on your lead. Idea Cellular means someone in India somewhere (it is a big country) is using mobile internet to do this nonsense. Not much I can do I guess, as I do not have the source mobile number and being a mobile carrier, most probably the IPs would be dynamically assigned. Will block the messages as much as I can and may be in the end if it gets too bothersome, change my number. Pity that these people sitting in different countries can do such nuisance without any consequences.
