    Bell modem/router to upstairs router:

I would think primary modem/router "WAN" to 2nd router WAN port, is that correct?

Note: Current ethernet port #1 (purple arrow) goes to WAN 2nd router.

Also all "ethernet" Upload speed 2 to 3 times faster than DL. Using any port above, diff cat 6 cables, & diff laptops. All 2 -3 times faster up than down. This seems to me 'primary router/modem' problem?

WAN is the wide area network. In most cases, that means the Internet. So you come out of the WAN port on the router upstairs (which you arebasically using as a switch only) and connect to one of the Ethernet ports on the modem. And the WAN port on the modem connects to the outside world (Internet).

    Thanks Bill!

Upstairs ethernet to one of the 4 ports works fine, surf the internet & win10 shows ethernet icon!

The connection is basement ethernet primary router/modem, 1 of 4 ports used & using 1 0f 4 ports 2nd router.

The first time, I got it working, I was attempting, force AP mode, turned DHCP off, then a little confused as to IP to assign, (from 192.168.1.1) I turned DHCP back on, & closed router login page.

CURRENTLY: I can from Netgear 2nd router surf via ethernet & choose ethernet connection other devices. Netgear also broadcasts SSID's & I can wifi connect

What I cannot do is get to Netgears router login page, it just times out!

To try to get to router login Netgear tried:

Netgear router off reboot primary, restart Netgear - router log in times out.

Somebody suggested using same wiring as now, pull all ethernet cables, from Netgear, & use paperclip to factory rest Netgear. I do not believe this will work, but did once, able to reach login page.

Would this work temporarily make Netgear primary, enter login. choose AP mode.

should the 2nd router be assigned a static IP? If so what IP address to use. Netgear is 192.168.1.1, primary uses 192.168.2.1
