Yes.... I fear that a matter of product policy since SUMo is in competition with Kaspersky's Updater... (which is indeed lagging behind SUMo... by far !)

If I'm not mistaken, Kaspersky abandoned its own updater a couple of years ago, so there is no logical reason to regard SUMo as a competitor any more. Apart from this, why should only SUMo be incompatible with Kaspersky products? What about PatchMyPC and all the other updaters? Well, this goes to show, I think, that SUMo is simply the best updater that is feared by KL.:)

I will but I do not expect to receive an answer to the effect that SUMo will be removed from their list of incompatible programs, even if it probably does not make any sense to add an update checker to a list of programs that are considered incompatible with an anit-malware app. Anyway, let's wait and see ...

I got a reply from Kaspersky about an hour ago. As expected, their reply is more than useless and doesn't help at all. First they told me they didn't know why SUMo had been added to their list of incompatible programs. Then they told me to uninstall SUMo because it may interfere with KIS, even though they haven't the faintest idea why SUMo is considered incompatible with Kaspersky products. This is rediculous. I am definitely NOT going to uninstall a "third-party" program if Kaspersky is unable to give me a compelling reason for it.

Thanks for letting us know.... clearly a weak/poor answer from KIS team. I would have expected more details and fixes !

Update: KL support forwarded my question to their developers. Maybe they can give as a definite answer as to why Kaspersky thinks SUMo is incompatible with their products.

Whether it's good news or not depends on the reply I will get from KL support. Anyway, I will keep you informed, Kyle.:)

We don't know yet, but maybe KIS regards SUMo as incompatible because of a driver issue. Does SUMo use any drivers or similar system files that could interfere with Kaspersky?
