Well, I left there for about a year due to the severe poison of one such "member" who was later exposed as a fraud and poseur (not the same one as bo elam alludes to, unless it's one and the same w/ differing nicks but I seriously doubt it). I returned there after a year to honor another member who had died unexpectedly and since then, the poisonous one didn't rear his/her head so often--in fact, thankfully rarely. That one, under another nick- name I believe, was banned here at Wilders years ago, I think.

I know the one bo mentions, don't many of us? But strangely, I was never much affected or offended by that one even though he/she made many poisonous and condescending comments and seemed to enjoy cutting folks down--prob. that ultimately led up to his own ouster. Oh well. Malwaretips is pleasant enough now. People's choices for or against, I respect them all.

MT enables "voting" like/dislike for each post. Such voting might (or might not) be based solely on the post's content, but it unavoidably implies a like/dislike of the person who authored the post. Also, MT "ranks" members by undefined "levels." I suppose some folks like that sort of thing. To each his own -- but I am very leery of "popularity-based" gimmicks in forums.

I never noticed any of this, but I have not been a member there long enough or been on the site enough to see it yet I guess. From what I have seen there are some people there that have some good ideas about online security, and mostly what I do is just read the existing threads. I am learning as much as I can but am still too much of a noob to post much in there right now. If it does ever get weird I will abandon the site. I have no use for ranks or reputation judging either.

The same here. I've been a member there for 6 years and have never had any issues. I like both Wilders and MT equally and don't see why someone would like Wilders and not MT, as they are both great sources of information and discussion.

A few months back I got locked out of my account there, because after wiping my phone and installing new firmware, I no longer had access to the 2FA app I need to use to login. I emailed MT and the issue was resolved very quickly.

I am on both sites, here and there also and you can not dislike a post. You can like, applause, etc.. though. (I believe you COULD dislike a post long ago before I joined.) I enjoy both of these forums also and have never had a real issue on there or here.

On both too. Both contain threads/posts with useful insights for popular software/extensions etc. I've never had an issue on either and if you're honest about disclosing your level of competence on a particular subject of interest you'll receive pointers/help requested.

Am a member on both forums, mostly on Wilders, but no issues with MT.
