I can't get Adwcleaner to run in W10 for some reason. Had no problem in Win7.

1. Hopefully you have downloaded AdwCleaner v8.0.7.0 from https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/ and that downloaded executable is identical with ~ Removed VirusTotal Results as per Policy ~
   
2. If the directory exists on the W10 system in question, please zip C:\AdwCleaner\Logs
3. Then, please open your own topic using https://forums.malwarebytes.com/forum/187-malwarebytes-adwcleaner/?do=add and attach the zipped logs archive file from above.

They finally fixed it so it would startup in Win10. I went to Win10 last September and was never able to get this app to start.

It does not startup in W10 like the last update did. When i turn ASLR off then this update will startup like the last update did.

 

Well....8.1.0.0 downloaded and opened just fine. Scanned fine, in fact, maybe a little too fine. 5 seconds? Repeated scan, same time. Has me wondering like many probably did when Malwarebytes got really fast w/scans--is it now too fast to pick up anything? lol?

EDIT: Aha, I see the changelog of 1PW--multi-threading has been added. Well, that answers that!

Numbers don't match here either. Says 31,922 on user interface, 7662 scanned items in the log. Hopefully this is reported and some kind of explanation is forthcoming.

I have directly related your reported issues to the Malwarebytes AdwCleaner author/developer. Since I'm guessing he lives/works in the Central European Time zone (UTC+1), we should probably expect a reasonable delay in response.

1.) The developer says "the discrepancy between what is shown in the logfile and in the UI will be addressed shortly".

2.) @Dragon1952

AdwCleaner's developer has requested you email him the scan results of the FRST utility.

Please download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop with Administrator's privileges.

Alternative download option: http://www.techspot.com/downloads/6731-farbar-recovery-scan-tool.html

Note: You will need to execute the edition compatible with your Windows system architecture (32-bit or 64-bit). If you are not sure which edition applies to your system, download both of them and try to launch them. Only one of them will execute on your computer, that will be the correct edition.

If your security alerts to the FRST executable, either accept the alert or turn your security off to allow FRST to run. FRST is not malicious or infected in any way.

Be aware, the FRST executable must be executed from an account with Administrator status... If English is not your primary language right click on FRST, select rename and then rename it to FRSTEnglish.exe

1. Double-click the FRST executable to launch the tool. When the tool opens, click Yes to disclaimer. Windows 8/10 users will be prompted about Windows SmartScreen protection - click More information and Run.
2. Make sure Addition.txt is check-marked under "Optional Scan".

3. Select only the Scan button to run the tool. Please be patient as the tool may take up to several minutes to complete.
   
4. The tool will write a FRST.txt file to the same directory the tool is run from.
   
5. The tool will eventually also write a Addition.txt file.
6. Please attach both files in email to jboursier@malwarebytes.com and make reference to this topic's URL.

When i turn Mandatory ASLR off i can run the latest 8.1.1.0 version.

 

My 3rd gen Ivy took 24 seconds to scan with new update.
