    Guys,anybody has problem with direct access to opera bookmarks? Just realized I lost all pages that should be bookmarked...in last month or so.
    Sandboxie classic 5.47 (and 5.46 before) Opera 73.0.3856.344, direct access box is checked in settings. Dont know when it stopped working,but was ok with 5.33.6 and Davids 5.45.
    Is it Chrome,Opera or Sandboxie...do I have to grant access to entire Opera profile?
    Edit: Went with old Openfilepath fix...Bookmarks are saved now.
    In case somebody needs it:
    OpenFilePath=opera.exe,%AppData%\Opera Software\Opera Stable\Bookmarks
    OpenFilePath=opera.exe,%AppData%\Opera Software\Opera Stable\Bookmarks.bak
    OpenFilePath=opera.exe,%AppData%\Opera Software\Opera Stable\BookmarksExtras
    OpenFilePath=bookmarks.exe,bookmarks*
    Dont have time to check if all are necesseary

    My apologies if this has been asked before, but I have a strange issue. I've used Sandboxie for many years on two VirtualBox VMs with 64-bit Windows 8.1 Pro (v6.3 build 9600) and Windows 10 Pro (v20H2) but decided to move to Sandboxie Classic. I uninstalled the old Sandboxie on both platforms, including the sandbox and anything remaining in the sandbox, C:\Program Files, C:\Program Data, C:\Users etc. and then downloaded Sandboxie Classic x64 v5.47.1 from https://github.com/sandboxie-plus/Sandboxie/releases and installed it.

    The Windows 10 installation worked fine, but on Windows 8.1 the install finishes and then after a short time a window is displayed: "Program Compatibility Assistant"; Sandboxie Kernel Mode Driver; sandboxie-plus.com; Windows blocked the installation of a digitally unsigned driver. Uninstall the program...

    I was under the impression that the driver is now digitally signed and was surprised when it installed on Windows 10 but not on Windows 8.1. Does anyone know why this might be the case?

    Many thanks.

    What is the situation with signed code at the moment? If I understand correctly, the driver is signed but the executables are not?

    I'd like to use Sandboxie again, but I can't deploy it if anti-virus or anti-malware software keeps false flagging the software.

    With the last release everything is signed,
    only issue the new style of driver signature is only fully accepted by windows 10
    windows 8 complains but loads the driver
    windows 7 doesn't load the driver hance the compatibility package with a copy of the driver signed in the "provisional" way that trigger complaints

    Many thanks indeed, David. Can I just confirm that although Windows 8.1 says that it has blocked the installation of the driver, it hasn't actually?

    Thank you for the quick reply! Nice to hear this signature issue is finally resolved.

    How about the installer? If I remember correctly, there was talk earlier about the installer being somewhat non-standard and it seemed to trigger some scanners as well. Have you changed the installer yet?

    Very happy overall with the progress.

    On my test VM win 8.1 shows a popup warning when the driver is installed for the first time , but aside of that seams to work just fine.

    I'm using inno setup now.

    Hi,

    Right-click on the tray-icon of Sandboxie, once I had all my sandboxes areas there (with the related options/actions), now I see only "Show/Hide" and a couple of options.

    Is that normal or my issue? You will put there the sandboxes areas again in the future?

    It may be an good idea for you to state which build of Sandboxie you are using, also if it's Classic or Plus.

    Using Classic 5.47.1 on this machine with Win 10 20H2.
    I know there is no point in updating a browser when sandboxed, however I noticed something and I wonder if it is just on my machine.
    If I run ChromiumEdge sandboxed either in default box, or my tester box, and go to the 3 dots top right of page, then Help and Feedback then About Microsoft Edge I get this error below.
    I do not get the error when I am not Sandboxed. (it says I am up to date)
    Vivaldi shows no error when I check for updates when sandboxed.

    Finally, finally, finally uninstalled original 5.33.6 and installed 5.47.1 Classic. I must say this: what took me so long? Now you must understand that I use SB at its simplest, I only use it to surf using Firefox; I don't use it for anything else. Is it my imagination or is 5.47.1 just a smidgen faster than original, anyway, very smooth.

    All appreciation and accolades to David. (As a result of all this I also finally, finally, finally got around to donating).

    Hey David, I suggest you make a pinned "Megathread" topic or whatever over on your GitHub page that people can use to ask general question, praise the all mighty DavidXanatos and other fluff, they use the "issues" like it's a forum and I'm sure if just as hard for you to keep track of actual issues when there's so much useless noise.

    Something like this comes to mind: https://github.com/Aris-t2/CustomCSSforFx/issues/308

    @Special, of course I am aware that your post had (once more) purely cynical intentions. Nevertheless I will try to comment it as it were a honest suggestion from your side:

    1. I think that positive reactions (like critics too) are important - not only for David himself but also for other (actual and potential) users: It is good to hear that other users of a certain software are satisfied (or that they are not). This has nothing to do with "prais[ing] the all mighty DavidXanatos" and of course it is no "fluff" or "useless noise".

    2. Personally I have no problem to read a positive comment in this thread. And I think you underestimate the intelligence of other people too (of David in this case) when you claim that they may have difficulties in watching the actual issues because of some compliments in between.

    3. But let us continue to take your opinions serious: Creating a specific thread (e.g. for general comments etc. about Sandboxie) could indeed be a possibility. But to my mind it should be created not (or at least not only) on GitHub but here in the Wilders Forums. GitHub with all its structure seems to me a place more for experts of computers, programming etc. and not so much for ordinary users of a software.

    Good grief. What's wrong with letting a software developer know that their hard work is paying off. If I were a developer I should would appreciate knowing that I was helping people.

    WTF are you talking about, this is about GitHub, if you literally pay any attention their you will see there is a constant stream of off topic posts being made, ranging from "thanks you David" posts to feature requests, to general questions, and of course actual issues. This is about CLEANING UP that section of GitHub keeping all the offtopic fluff in one place.

    Also this has nothing to do with you, so no need to reply to me.

    If your comment was about GitHub:
    - So why do you post it here at Wilders?
    - And that you posted it directly after a positive comment by @Acadia (plus a confirmation by Mr.X) was pure coincidence?

    I made a look at the section "Issues" at GitHub (in case that you meant it): Checking the entries for about one month back I could not find any "fluff" or "useless noise" etc. You definitely did not refer to GitHub!

    Indeed, you underestimate our intelligence in a way that it becomes insulting for us!

    I'm also not in favor to use GitHub for this.
    People would need to create a GitHub account even if they are not a developer or don't do anything with GitHub.
    A separate thread for issues, here on the Wilders Security Forum, could be an option.
    You could refer to it in the first post.

    This is my last banana, I hope your reading comprehension can make it last.

    1. Why not? (don't answer that, I won't reply), Should I add to the white noise that is on GitHub? Both places to talk to David can co-exist, one for Wilder community, and GitHub for everyone else who is not part of Wilder which is probably 99:1 for Sandboxie user base.

    2. Yes coincidence. What am I suppose to do, wait days and days for the right time to ask something as to not follow up with someone's else post, this is the dumbest thing I'm answering honestly. Is this a straw man argument? Nice try.

    You didn't look hard then, not even trying. These can go into a megathread for general purpose stuff.

    https://github.com/sandboxie-plus/Sandboxie/issues/540
    https://github.com/sandboxie-plus/Sandboxie/issues/340

    And not really...

    You don't have to, Wilder's can stay here and do whatever, GitHub is for the rest of the internet who like you, does not want to create yet another account (but for Wilder) to speak to David.

    I see what you mean now. I agree that it's better to keep all issues in one place.

    I'm running Classic 5.47.1. When I launch Chrome from its icon, it starts in the sandbox and retains my login info that I added outside the sandbox. No problems... I'm logged into Chrome and I have my synced bookmarks and extensions. However, when I click a button/link in another program that opens the default browser, the window what opens is not logged in and does not have bookmarks or extensions. I also sometimes get a Chrome error message about not being able to load profile. Is there a fix for this, or is it by design?

    @Special: This is not the place to discuss your (alleged) problems with GitHub. So no more comment from my side.

    It's the perfect place to discuss problems with GutHub, and glad I won't be hearing from you anymore. Peace.
