Guys I need yours opinion which is certainly more competent than mine. Which is the lightest video player that needs the least ram of the three listed below? PotPlayer SMPlayer VLC TH.
Thank you for your comment. I should have an opinion on the latest versions. But the latest version of PotPlayer 1.7.21469 is NOT compatible with Windows XP. It works from Vista onwards. All web sites make a mistake by stating compatibility with W.XP as well. So I can't perform the test myself because even the portable version is NOT compatible with the OS of my PC. Thanks anyway.
i see. no problem. well, i can tell you it's pretty light but since you won't be able to use it i guess it don't matter, huh? and softpedia shows it correctly:
Sorry my mistake. I misspelled the version of PotPlayer that can no longer be installed in Windows XP PotPlayer v.1.7.21419 which is the penultimate version released (210209) is compatible. PotPlayer 1.7.21465 which is the latest version is not compatible.
I use and like VLC. However, I don't know whether it is compatible with dead operating systems. Just give it a try.
My initial question. To avoid rambling. I don't have to choose personaly one of the three softwares. In some cases I can't do the testing myself. But even wanting to do them I have little experience with these types of softwares. If anyone can help me........a help a colleague. TH.
Same here, but VLC has so far never let me down. It always does what it is supposed to do. I use the portable version of VLC, by the way. Works like a charm.
I'm using PowerDVD20 Ultra here. It has nice effects such as smooth motion which makes 25/29 FPS Movies seem smoother as if they were 60 FPS and is a nice all round media player for videos, DVD, Bluray, Music, and even photos.
