I am sorry to have to ask this here, I also am a member at malwaretips, 4 days ago I logged on there from my phone, and got an error message saying I was banned because of spam. I did not send any spam there or anywhere else, I was just trying to use the site on my phone. I sent 2 emails so far to contact@malwaretips.com and so far they have not replied. If anyone here knows any other way to contact them, I would appreciate the help. Thanks very much.

There is a Contact us link at the bottom of forum page which opens up contact form. You may try it if you didn't already.

Thanks, I tried that form already, it just instantly displayed the "you are banned because of spam" message again.

I went on the site on my other laptop that is not logged on to Malwaretips, and was able to send a message to them using the Contact form. I hope they reply and fix my account soon.

Clear all malwaretips.com cookies. If you are banned you literally cant do anything until you clear the cookies. Not even log out

No, I don't use a VPN. Just using Google Chrome on the wifi on my Comcast cable/internet here at home. Running Windows 10 2004 on a Lenovo laptop with MS Defender Antivirus, Ublock Origin and Windows Security Browser add on for Chrome, all set to default settings. All Windows updates are current, and all other sites work ok.

Thanks Chabbo, I cleared cookies on the site and I can read the site now, but when I log in I get the same message saying I am banned for spam.

I tried to make registration with vpn but didnt work. Then again I also used temp email so that helped too (in getting banned again).

I cant be ***** to use tor just for mt

So as far as registration goes, there shouldnt be a problem. I mean, Im sure many people on MT use vpn, so why should vpn make a problem

I had the same issue when I had vodafone as my home broadband. It was to do with their ip address used. Once I moved to another ISP I was able to log in fine

It certainly was with me. I had all sorts of issues on Vodafone, some web sites wouldn't let me buy anything as it said I was in India. I am actually based in the UK. All those issues stopped once I moved ISP, including MT membership. I got the standard spam message every time I tried to sign up with them on Vodafone. Seems their IP addresses can be unusual and mistaken for the India ones. I only found it on a google after years of wondering what I had done wrong lol

Next time you can ask the admin why it detects you as spam, would be faster than years of wondering :p

I sent a message to the mods there yesterday, also sent 2 emails last week to the site's contact email, have not had any response at all from any of those. I just now tried logging in the site and got the you have been banned for spam message again. At this point I will just clear the cookies one more time so I can read the site but stay logged out. There are some pretty heavy hitters there as far as security goes, and I probably have no business posting there anyway.

    Thanks,

    Jimmy

The MWT admins have not replied to me, after 3 attempts. When I was only logged in on my laptop the site worked fine, but this problem started when I tried to log in on my phone. I was on my home wi-fi, the same wi-f I use for my laptop when I tried to get on the site with my phone. Maybe there is something in my AT&T service that flags their spam alert. I just now tried to get on the site from my laptop and got the same spam error message agin. At this point I will just stay logged out and treat the site as read-only.

There's only 1 admin, spawn, as far as I know. And your contact message might not have reached through. Try contacting em from guest (can you do that?) or make a new account (you probably can't if IP banned)

You could send a message to @harlan4096. He is a moderator at MT, and maybe he can help you.

Well, I searched on MT forum for this question and came up with a little extra info. It seems that if one attempts to register using a VPN plus a disposeable email address, that individual will be banned. The various posts in the thread shed some light on the subject.

Edit: I see people from all walks of life on there. I am a regular user but do have an appreciation and regard for those members who contribute so much. Many times, it's more interesting to have varying levels of IT knowledge, it makes things livelier and more "real."

Thanks for all your continued help on this. MWT is a great site and I would like to have access to it. I reached out to Harlan and hope he can help. I don't use a VPN, just the wifi on Comcast here at my house. I have had my gmail email for years, it is not a temporary or disposable email. The MWT site worked fine when I was on my laptop, the problem with the banned account did not start until that day last week when I tried to log on MWT from my cell phone and I have been locked out ever since.

    Thanks,

    Jimmy
