Hey there, I have a question regarding the Windows 10 virtual memory, the page file. Are the contents of the file persistent? I mean, if there is something paged, does it remain there forever or does Windows delete it from time to time? How does this work? Can I find URLs or whatever from 5 years ago there? Thanks
Thank you for this interesting read! But when I decide to not erase the page file, how long do the artifacts of, let's say visited URLs, chats or so, stay there? Are they "flashed" from time to time when not needed anymore or do they last there forever?
I would expect they don't go anywhere until that part of the file is overwritten with other data. Which likely takes quite some time. This article claims you can just delete it if you wish. I have not tried: https://www.techradar.com/how-to/how-to-delete-move-and-resize-pagefilesys
