What is your security setup these days?

    2 of them ;) the mac has mbamFree and the gaming pc has RogueKiller and hitmanpro alert

    I had to removed ipvanish and vrprvpn as block my in/ out call from textnow and freeze the games.i think they conflicts with hitmanpro alert

    Haha cookie eater. The funny thing is when you called it malware smasher :D I used to like Emsisoft but I didn't like what they did to OA Armor Firewall (which I also had a license for) so once my license expired for EAM, I moved on to something else.

    OS: Windows 10 20H2 x64

    Network security:
    • Router with SPI firewall enabled
    • Windows 10 built-in firewall enabled

    Built in security:
    • UAC is set to always notify
    • Password-protected local account

    Real time protection:
    • Macrium Reflect is configured for daily system and documents backup. Backups are protected by Macrium Image Guardian.
    • Emsisoft Anti-Malware is configured and used as main AM solution
    • uBlock Origin is used for content blocking in Firefox

    Updates:
    • SUMo is used for on demand check for updates for applications
    • Windows Updates, Office Updates and updates in Microsoft Store are enabled and set to Automatic

    On demand tools:
    • I perform weekly scan with HitmanPro and ESET Online Scanner
    • I use KeePass to store my passwords
    • VirtualBox is used to test new software before installing it on my system and to test system backup images
    • VeraCrypt is used to store sensitive data in encrypted container
    • I use SysInternals tools when necessary (Process Explorer, Autoruns, Process Monitor)

    Then explain it to me! But I have done some reading and I think I know what you guys mean. I believe VS did started out as an exploit blocker, but now it tries to be a full replacement for AV's, via whitelisting and their "AI based" AV scanner. I'm also using whitelisting on Win 8.1, but I dumped EXE Radar on Win 10, I got fed up keep having to disable protection when installing apps. OSArmor is a nice replacement.
