Clearly upgrading to to the latest Revo 4 would be the best option but I'm wondering at what point the free version (v2.x) could be considered over 3.2.1 Pro?

Have you tried HiBit Uninstaller? It's free, receives regular updates and does an excellent job of finding leftovers. The developer provides excellent support and is quick to fix bugs and add new features I suggest. It should do a comparable or better job of finding leftovers than Revo does.

    Roger,

I have never heard of it before.

While I do trust your judgement, the first hurdle I had was the HTTPS Everywhere extension warning about the site not being encrypted. OK, I allowed http://www.hibitsoft.ir/Uninstaller.html for the browser session. As soon as I'd done that I had BlackFog Privacy warning about a detected threat. I checked the logs and found this:

    Edit:And this:

    BFP 2.PNG

I think I'll pass for now.

    Cheers!

I can assure you it is quite safe and the author is on Malwaretips all the time with updates. The only thing it does is check for updates to the author's site. That is strange what you are seeing. Did you get that at install or when on his site? It is also downloadable via Majorgeeks .You can bring that to his attention via his email support if you like on his site.

Yeah, OK. I don't think I need it though.

    Thanks.

No problem. He does it as side hobby with no income from the programs since it is just him. He is also active on Malwaretips forums so he can be reached there also.

This log has not related to my site.
BlackFog blocks all sites related to Iran.

To be sure, you can scan our site and program at virustotal.

Hi and welcome to Wilders! :thumb:

I had a full page block from BF and those entries were the only things in the logs for about that time. I guess they could be unrelated.
Yes, that is correct, although I can disable Geofence in BF if needed.

    Thanks.

2 years ago I did a registry cleaner test with over 30 of the most popular registry cleaners that I could find, posted on malware tips. Unfortunately the mods there are literally nazi (its why I no longer use MT, u have to be a robot to be a user there) so they removed it for some stupid reason. But I compared who could remove the most, remove the safest etc. etc.

Maybe I can do this too with uninstallers? I got revo uninstaller pro latest version 4.4.0, I don't dare delete a folder or uninstall without it. That said, why u think it should do a comparable or better job than Revo?

Well, if you are interested, you will. I just FYI that thread so if anyone is thinking of comparing installers, that's the correct thread to do so.

At Wilders, developer badges are earned, not bestowed willy-nilly.

We are not discussing our Admin decisions in public. Whenever a developer earns a badge, everyone will know.

Let's stop the Off Topic banter.
