I've just installed a new browser, Dissenter - an "offspring" from BRAVE. Has anyone tried it? https://dissenter.com/
Just had a quick look in Shadow Defender. Really not for me, seems abandoned. You cannot download from their main page (0 bytes) you have to go to Github. Chromium is v80. You cannot update it from within the browser. It is down via a service through Windows ? The screenshot which tells you about it.... if you click on the version and build number shown you end up at Brave (see below...look at tabs) Also a rather strange page is in one of the settings.
Though you can update Firefox and Chrome through options in the browser menus, keep in mind they both have a Windows service they use for elevation to complete the update, so this is not as big a deal (at least to me) as it would seem. But yeah, if they are not updating this I have no interest in even trying it.
Latest Chromium is v87.0.4280.141. v80 is ages old and very vulnerable. Seriously considering this old crap?
Hi, Just a few browsers for you to check out: Librefox Sphere Browser CLIQZ Browser Librefox Puffin Secure Browser work perfectly with SandBoxie...... Can you say that about other Browsers? Thoughts and Opinions..........
I think CLIQZ was retired more than a year ago... About Sphere Browser. "...it has two red flags- the default homepage has analytics, and you have to run analytics on your browser to download it." https://spyware.neocities.org/articles/sphere.html More about Linken Sphere. (It got my attention) Linken Sphere was first introduced on several Russian-speaking underground forums on July 4, 2017, by the threat actor “nevertheless.” Linken Sphere allows users to create multiple virtual accounts that imitate the activities of real users and provide unique device fingerprints. As a result, Linken Sphere has become popular among cybercriminals who seek to circumvent anti-fraud systems. https://www.recordedfuture.com/linken-sphere-profile/ And now the last thing about Sphere.
@zmechys Cliqz Browser: It was retire on April 29, 2020......... Additionally, I have only find three browsers that work with Sandboxie....... Firefox and Palemoon........Plus, Puffin Secure Browser. I can run them within Sandboxie and once, I delete the sandbox most of BS is gone........ For me they are keepers..... Because work with SandBoxie, period. Most of all of the other browsers will not work with SandBoxie....... Let me know, if you browser that will work with SandBoxie? Most individuals over look their browsers and just focus on security..... Just out of curiosity, what browsers do you use? And why? Always the best, Moose
negative comments on Dissenter and other browsers - https://digdeeper.neocities.org/ghost/browsers.html#dissenter
It used to be FIREFOX and/or some of its forks, but... Due to some internal issues and external influences, right now I'm using, primarily, Maiar, Vivaldi, but with caution. I used to have Cliqz, but I always needed to rename it to Firefox, in order to use with (THE MUST) Sandboxie. With Palemoon, I could not install a VPN proxy. That's a NO GO for me. About Puffin Secure Browser. Can I install a/any VPN proxies with Puffin? I'll check all your recommended browsers. Thank you.
@zmechys, Puffin Secure Browser: Not sure about any vpn proxy, sorry..... Write their support and let know what you find out...... Thank you sharing.....
Never heard of Maiar may check it out. I use Brave and Vivaldi myself. Puffin looks cool but you need to pay for it?
Hi, They have a 30 day trail....... Take a minute to read what they have offer. Additionally, I have only find three browsers that work with SandBoxie. Firefox and Palemoon, plus, Puffin Secure Browser.+ Let me know, if you find a browser that will work with SandBoxie? Kind regards,
Hi, For your Browser, you may try Heilig Defense : CyDec's Anti-Fp, to stop fingerprinting targeting of your browsers. Yes, it cost money, Always the best,
what a crap - most of its features make no browser work correct and the rest can be covered from browser itself or less intrusive extension. And yes, i can run any (naked) browser without issues in sandboxie. but even with extensions it is possible when extensions do not trigger sound effects (eg download sound). video+audio = no problem.
Hi, I was wondering if anybody heard of this browser below: Xvast Browser Thought and opinion on it being secure and being private? And keeping one privacy..... Seem to be quick..... Not sure about it , so be careful...... I have Xvast in sandbox, ect.....
A read of the writup here may give an indication of whether it's a browser people will need. https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/xvast.html
