WhatsApp is pushing ahead with controversial changes to its terms of service, but altering the way it notifies users following a backlash.

This shows sad state of users awareness about TOS they agree to. WhatsApp for years have been legally sharing data with parent company - Facebook - because TOS allowed them. Content of private chat is E2E encryptes, so content is safe from that but all metadata and other data can (will) be shared.

Search domain recoverit.wondershare.com for article "How to Backup WhatsApp Without Google Drive". They advise SD card to transfer files to PC, but you can also i.e. connect your PC via USB cable and transfer it that way.

C'mon, did everyone really think its TOS and privacy policy would be any better than at Fakebook? According to its site, "With WhatsApp, you'll get fast, simple, secure messaging and calling for free*, available on phones all over the world." Yeah, well it may be fast, and simple, but secure and free...definitely not. There are better alternatives, but I doubt that will matter much to the herd, who will find 101 excuses to use it.
