Hi @JRViejo Thanks for your help, but, yes I did try them both. When you download both they are notionally v2.7 but when you hover your mouse over them it says v2.71 To be sure, I installed one of them and it was v2.71. Anyway. Thanks Terry
Hi @ WiseVector StopX Further to our posts1032, 1035, and 1038 Re Shadow Defender not functioning with WiseVector installed Today I had decided to remove WiseVector until the situation has been clarified by you. In another thread I noted that there as an application by Andy Hul "Configure Defender" which a number of people are using in Wilders. So I decided to install it. I can also confirm prior that to installing it, Shadow Defender still wouldn't go into Shadow Mode. After installing it and putting it in HIGH mode and before removing WiseVector StopX, I decided to try Shadow Defender (After Configure Defender was installed). Shadow Defender now goes into Shadow Mode? Any suggestions why? Thanks Terry
@TerryWood : Most likely you used a tuning, privacy, or security -tool before, that set values, now corrected by Configure Defender. BTW: Usually you don't install Configure Defender, but use it portable.
Hi, Sorry for the late reply. Actually, we have downloaded Shadow Defender v1.5.0.726 and tested many times, but unfortunately, we didn't reproduce the issue you have encountered. Anyway, we modified some parts of WVSX which might cause the conflict and it has been automatically updated. Most likely this issue has been resolved. Thanks for your feedback.
Hi @Hiltihome "Most likely you used a tuning, privacy, or security -tool before, that set values, now corrected by Configure Defender." Not so! "BTW: Usually you don't install Configure Defender, but use it portable." I know. Install is still contextually correct. I mean by placing the extracted folder into one' file systems = install. Terry
@TerryWood, is it possible that the SD conflict you believe is directly caused by WVSX is actually interaction by WD? I ask that because I have WD's real-time AV disabled and have not any SD issues whatsoever while running WVSX.
I'm not sure that's it. I run Windows Defender, WiseX and Sandboxie and Shadow Defender daily and I have not experienced that issue.
Hi @ pvsurfer In answer to your question, any thing is possible, but read on............ The reason that I believed that WiseVector might be responsible was simply because Windows Defender and WiseVector had been playing nicely together for some time. Then there was an update to WiseVector. From that point on ShadowDefender refused to work. There had been absolutely no change to Windows Defender setup prior to the WiseVector update. so, it was not an unreasonable initial reaction on my part. Subsequently I installed configure Defender set to High, after which Shadow Defender now works??! The fact is that no one else appears to be reporting a similar issue so, maybe something in Windows Defender or Wise Vector became "stuck" during installation. Thanks for your interest Terry
As a sample of one all I can say is that I've had no issues with exactly the same set up you have. Must be a glitch in your system somewhere.
Hello everyone! V2.72 is released! V2.71 can update to V2.72 directly when "Automatically download and install program updates" is enabled. Sorry,V2.67 can't update automatically now. The download link: https://update2.wisevector.com/WiseVector_StopX_V27.exe https://www.wisevector.com/WiseVector_StopX_V27.exe Update log: 1. Fixed a particular resource leak. 2. Fixed the issue that the behavior detection might fail to clean up malicious leftovers. 3. Speed up scanning on large files. 4. Improved the stability of ransomware rollback. 5. Performance improved. Have a nice day!
I uninstalled WiseVector 3 weeks ago to trouble shoot an issue I was having with my video card. The problem seemed to be hardware related, and not software. I replaced my video card, but I didn't reinstall WiseVector. I will install WiseVector again later this evening, and see if I have problems with it and Shadow Defender. I'm a long time user of Shadow Defender, and now i'm curious if there is a conflict between the two. I can also check to make sure all the issues I was having between WiseVector, and PyCharm have been resolved.
Hi @ Cutting_Edgetech I appreciate your interest and for letting me know. I would continue to be interested in your conclusions because it still puzzles me why the addition of another program solved the issue for me. Thanks Terry
Hi there, i'm new with WiseVector (installed few days ago) , but i have some issues with him.I started installing that version from official site , 2.67 , but was a big trouble , none of my applications have started after . I maked few searches and i found this forum , and i installed 2.71 ( silently updated to 2.72 ) . But the problems still persist , not so bad like 2.67, but some of my applications still don't work with WVSX active.I found that putting enable advanced malware detection off, everything seems to be ok after. I use Windows 8.1 , AVG and Acronis Ransom Protect and also WVSX with that module disabled.WVSX is instaled with default settings, and the message with that setting on is : The application was unable to start corectly (0xc00000e5). Click OK to close the application.
What i will suggest is to uninstall wisevector with hibit uninstaller or windows uninstaller then proceed to run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth rebooted and ran sfc /scannow
I uploaded the files via GUI, Editor\Data\Tools\UnsafeUtilityPatcher\UnsafeUtilityPatcher.exe (latest Unreal engine 4.26) anyway MiniToolBox and curl.exe (from git bash) all flagged as trojans too
