    I just tried it again. For me it continues to crash. (Possibly we have different settings in Firefox for downloading?)

    PS:
    Ah, now I see. It's the same situation as with Chrome: When clicking the download icon of Firefox I get the following information:

    FF-DL.jpg

    It's saying: This file is only seldom downloaded. To open it is possibly not secure, it could contain a virus etc.

    So that in your case the download is not blocked has surely to do with different security settings in Firefox. (I have checked the box for blocking dangerous downloads.)

    So it must have to do with different settings for security in Firefox. It's the only explanation I can imagine.
    The strange thing is that for me the download blocking happens only for the mentioned one of the four installers.

    But anyway, finally I was able to download and to install "my" v. 5.46.0.

    PS: Concerning Chrome: Presumably the same: Different settings for download security. (I do not start Chrome now as long as Sandboxie's latest problems with this browser are not fixed. :D )

    Maybe, SBIE2214 caused by "Drop rights" checked with Chromium based.
    Maybe, you run "Hardened" restrictions box?

    Sandboxie Plus 0.5.3b on Win 10 20H2.
    Downloaded 0.5.4.
    Thought I'd try different ways of installing to see which worked best for my machine.

    Try 1.
    Selected 'check for updates' from with GUI of 0.5.3b. Failed.. said could not connect to server.
    Try 2.
    Installed over the top of 0.5.3b
    Was not offered the option to overwrite existing install. It seemed to install ok and .ini was picked up then the problems started. Sandbox Manager errors eating CPU and making program very unstable. Uninstalled and deleted 2 ini files at C\Windows Sandbox.ini and in C\users\name\appdata\local\SbiePlus

    Following on from above post....
    Try 3.
    Uninstalled 0.5.4 rebooted. Cleaned up ini files etc. and installed clean build.
    It started off well and then went downhill.
    Uninstalled, (see error with uninstall) cleaned up and back on good old 0.5.3b

    When I tested chrome portable it ran just fine:
    upload_2021-1-8_9-28-53.png

    Check your global section i there are no options that shouldn't be there and try with a new un customized sandbox please

    PS: after some runtime i get as expected the "PID 6252: SBIE2214 Request to start service 'bits' was denied due to dropped rights"
    but no other errors realy strange

    Tried 0.5.4 and all my sandboxed programs, Firefox and Edge among of them, worked fine. I like Sandman, but still consume an average of 0.7% of my CPU in the background.

    Just a little inconvenience; I have Skype Desktop Version installed inside a sandbox and autologin failed. It seems that "OpenCredentials=y" is not working anymore and i have to type my username and password every time i open the program.

    @all
    I'm sorry for the inconvenience of not providing a pre-release build but given the severity of the issues found its better to update and have minor problems, than to stick to the old build and wait for exploit authors to diff the source and find out how ti write exploits.

    I think what we should do in future is a closed beta testing, meaning a private circle, unsigned driver (for quick updates) and no source access until the public release.
    I have created a slack channel for sbie plus yesterday so whomever wants to join please send me your email through a PM and I'lls en you an invite

    I'm looking into the issues right now.

    For me Sandboxie Classic 5.46 works just fine. All the browsers (firefox, edge, chrome) and downloads works without errors!
    But in chrome I had to empty the sandbox manually.
    I have Windows 10 Pro 20H2.

    It was some program/drivers from my old mouse: http://www.owlotech.com/drivers/X5GamingMouse-drivers.rar

    When i recorded that video i was using W10 as a normal user, but when that mouse program installed inside a sandbox asked for admin privileges, ran outside the sandbox. Since then i am using W10 as an admin (I know it´s dangerous but i know what i´m doing), since there are not more usernames on my system than my admin name, sandboxed programs always run inside sandboxes under all circumstances.

    I found a couple of bugs on 0.5.4:

    1. Firefox installed on my host system, but running inside a sandboxie works fine. Firefox installed inside a sandbox is not loading webs, and can´t acces to internal browser settings.
    2. Windows border/title section on sandman is totally broken. If i set no border and no title does the opposite, i can fix it using the old interface.

    about the update check failing, if it fails that means you don't have msvcr100.dll on your system will be included in future with the installer

    @DavidXanatos
    Are SBIE2214 here #512 caused by Drop Rights?
    Are SBIE2203 here #511 reproducible, your side?
    Thanks

    I just tried vivaldi and it also worked just fine.

    I presume it some configuration i did not take into account that causes the issues.

    Tried 0.5.0 and 0.5.2 with no success, then i started to analyze my sandboxie.ini and i found the culprit. Last week added to my global settings this line:
    Code:
    ClosedIpcPath=\RPC Control\LSARPC_ENDPOINT
    Removed it from my global settings and Skype can autologin again.

    It's not me. But I also use a standard account (Me is a standard account, and Installer is an admin user). I have two similar laptops, they are set almost in the same way, both running by default with a standar user, one at home and one at work. I've updated the instalation at work with the new release now and i have no problems with the UI's when changing settings. But on my home pc I've even modified C:\Windows\Sandboxie.ini and gave full read/write rights to "Everyone" group and both old and new UI can't make any changes to sandboxie.ini, i've tried also a total uninstall of sandboxie, cleaned registries, installing the classic sandboxie but nothing works for now, i guess i'll try a windows reinstall soon.

    About the fmrte program that runs unsandboxed, i've tested it also on my work pc and the same behavior applies, if installed inside a sandbox and after that you start it from an unsandboxed explorer, for a moment it appears in the sandbox but after that, it starts unsandboxed.
    A brief description of fmrte it's a program that reads the memory of football manager 2020 and you can search all sorts of data that are hidden by default in the game and also modify some of it's values, it seems that the program is developed with the net framework, i think it's a wpf app, and to test/start it you don't need to have the game installed. You can download it from https://www.fmrte.com/files/file/32-fmrte-20-for-windows/
