Is WinPatrol still a viable product?

    It has issues with Windows 10. It probably still works fine with older versions of Windows.

    Could you please go in to more detail as to what issues it has with Windows 10? Only issue I know of personally is an issue with Macrium Reflect but I haven't seen that for some time now. Thanks in advance.

    Pretty much abandoned. Closest thing to it that I use and completely free is Hibit Startup Monitor. It has real time monitoring of startup locations with alerts.

    I use it myself and like it a lot. It scans new startup entries at VirusTotal and shows you the scan results in its alerts.

    BTW, the portable version is not what I call portable and leaves it's trash behind in the registry and on disk.

    I'd stay away from the .ir domian and app. There are better and more trustworthy tools available. If you want a startup manager use autoruns or processhacker. Either way I still use Winpatrol and works fine on W10x64.

    as pointed out winpatrol is much out of date and cannot protect anything on win10. no change within the last 3 years :rolleyes:
