Everything look right in Settings>System>Display? Display resolution, scaling OK?
    Shouldn't be ... 1920 x 1080 has been a standard for years!
No blurring on a Lenovo ThinkBook, or Dell XPS 13 here. (I change resolution to 125%, and desktop / taskbar icons to small - just my preference).

Yes, it has been the standard with both laptop and desktop screens, I just don't like it. I did change it to 175% scaling to make it look bigger. The blurring is with apps like ExtractNow and System Explorer, perhaps you can check it out.

Another thing that bugs me is that images with a low resolution look very small, but this is logical of course. I guess I will need to buy me a new 1280*1024 desktop monitor before they stop making them. And BTW, is it true that Process Explorer can't display integrity level for all processes on Windows 10?

I still do use the (unfortunately discontinued) System Explorer, just for the taskbar hover-over gadget thingy, but don't notice blurring opening the app ... though you may be more 'picky' that me!

Sorry Stapp, I didn't see this post yesterday. But it's the small things that get on my nerves. For example, I noticed that I couldn't always drag buttons and I couldn't find a way to disable thumbnails. So I had to use 7+ Taskbar Tweaker. Also, how to make Win Explorer remember file sorting options and columns that should be visible? It looks like it can't be done.

Yes, but it seems like it doesn't remember the settings, but will try it again. I want all folders to have the same view and sorting settings. On Win 8.1 it does work correctly.

After more scrutiny it turned out it is IObit Uninstaller v10.2 which causes the apps reconfiguration. Once I reverted back to v10.1 the issue has gone for good. Already reported to IObit. My apology to Microsoft for blaming that their update was causing the issue. :) It was a coincidence that I installed the MS patch and IObit Uninstaller update on the same day.

I guess the installation monitor running the background might be the culprit. I believe that IObit will get it right soon.

I have decided to give it a try, so far it doesn't seem to cause any problems with the "recommended settings". I have also used a freeware version of Spybot Anti-Beacon, but it probably disables the same stuff related to telemetry. Plus I have disabled a couple of services with AutoRuns.

And after all this tweaking I've managed to go from about 170 to 140 processes. Seriously, Windows 10 is a mess when it comes to the amount of running services and processes, why on earth did M$ make it this bloated? Performance is still good though, but I still don't like it.

JFYI, IObit resolved the issue. They provided me with a test installation that proved to be trouble free. This fix will be incorporated in a next official build of IObit Uninstaller.

I had 1909 version until yesterday. Downloaded 2004 iso. Slipstreamed kb4593175 (Servicing stack update) and kb4592438 (CU) into wim file as guided by prajwaldesai.com website. Disabled Wifi, unpluged Ethernet crossover cable, enabled updates via StopUpdates10 and run setup.exe from unpacked iso to upgrade overnight.
It seems Windows didn't broke after all, but wallpaper changed without any warning!

I experienced something that seems like one-time issue - I couldn't open start menu after minor, manual update of Intel's GPU driver. Fortunately ctrl-alt-delete still worked, so I killed explorer.exe and started new explorer.exe then rebooted system. Since then that problem is gone.

Another issue was related to Ethernet connection. Specifically my laptop has Broadcom BCM57785 Controller. Every few minutes I lost connection to the Internet. Consecutive ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renewal didn't help. Laptop's Wifi connection wasn't affected though, so it wasn't router/gateway device problem. Smartphone also had Internet connection. Troubleshooting tool did help, but problem repeated itself every few minutes or so. I uninstalled built-in Windows driver via Device Managed. Windows immediately installed the same built-in driver, but I didn't gave it enough time to check whether problem will occur again. I installed slightly newer version from Microsoft Update Catalog website. I am surprised, but problem seems to not occur again, even though that latest version wasn't really updated since 2015. It really look like abandoned driver. Maybe updating this driver wasn't really necessary and problem would resolve after uninstall and automatic Windows install of the same built-in driver?

Anyway upgrade to 2004 wasn't bug-free, but everything seems to work for now.

BTW, I've just noticed that with 175% scaling, certain apps like Vivaldi can't display all info. Like when you want to clear cookies via the padlock icon, it isn't displayed. What a mess! And even after all of these tweaking Win 10 still somehow loads about 170 processes, most of them from Microsoft, what a joke.

I haven't really installed that many security apps yet, Win Defender seems to work just fine. But I will probably also install EXE Radar or OSArmor. TinyWall takes care of the firewall part, I think I want to keep it simple and I won't be spending this much time on my laptop anyway. The blurry GUI of certain apps also gets on my nerves. Overall conclusion, Win 10 is good but not great and I really don't like these 1920*1080 screens.

BTW, I have noticed that you can fix the blurring with Win32 apps via the right click context menu, it's called "High DPI scaling override" but you will have to do this for each app individually, has M$ lost its mind? Why isn't there a global setting?

There is also a "Fix scaling for apps" option but it doesn't seem to fix anything, what a joke. But I'm glad that at least certain apps like System Explorer and Pserv2 look crispy again. Problem is, way too many Win32 apps may look blurry, I wonder why M$ hasn't fixed this.
