I used HMP.alert a few years ago and it regularly caused me various issues including false positives. When it was incorporated into Sophos Home Premium I installed that on a few home PCs.
My latest laptop, fast, still struggles with SHP, it's really "sticky", so a couple of weeks ago I removed it and downloaded HMP.alert again on top of Defender.
It's working excellently, really impressed with the improvements since last time I used it. Seems that the teamwork between Surfright / Sophos has produced a more powerful and stable product. Just got the 2 year Black Friday offer, happy days, hopefully...

I'm still getting crashes on Hmpa during startup when booting Win7-32bit. Been like that for ages. It's not a BSOD. HMPA gets restarted, but that should not be happening. I reported it, but it never got fixed. The problem is that it's random. I guess the dumps did not help.

If I uninstall and reinstall HMPA on the same PC, will that require a license reset from support?

No, you can easily do that without help from support.

Why is HMPA light in task manager but heavy in the browser? I finally used my 1-year key and had to uninstall it cause HMPA made every process in chrome way over 100k which slowed my old rig down too much:mad:

I had anti malware off. After update to 887 i wanted to turn it on. It won't turn on and cloud protection is offline.

2 things that would be very helpful.
    1. Password protection of settings, termination, protection components, uninstallation and so on.
    2. A menu to point-and-click add exclusions to scanning and different protection features.

Being able to add exclusions to the keystroke encryption would be helpful for games. And being able to add exclusions to scanning would be helpful for false positives.
