Got the update... TY, mood. :thumb: The upgraded CoreLibs is impressive, although I am in the dark as to what 90%+ of the changelog items mean. Anyone interested in more info on CoreLibs filtering engine will find lots of it here... Introducing AdGuard CoreLibs . Article is from two years ago, dealing with the inception of CoreLibs and how it has streamlined performance and development. Enjoy.

Is there any merit to enabling the DNS setting within AdGuard for Windows and if so do you need to change any IPv4 & 6 settings on your network adapter? AdGuard for Windows doesn't prompt you to but if you choose AdGuard's AdGuard DNS product on their website it does.

Also if you do enable the DNS setting in AdGuard for Windows, choose say the AdGuard DNS option and also add the AdGuardDNS filter list do you still keep AdGuard Base filter enabled too (ie are they complimentary)?

I took advantage of the GHacks/Stacksocial deal earlier in the week ~ great price.

Pretty impressed so far with Adguard for Windows.

No slowdown on Windows? I had it installed 2-3 years ago and I had a noticeable slowdown with Firefox.:(

Well, the price I pd. last year was good also, around 60% off. Without any notice, however, I got a renewal notice yesterday. I'd changed my card so fortunately, the attempt to renew AdGuard failed. I was able to reply to the email and tell AdGuard to stop the renewal attempts, which was promptly acknowledged and done. I'm not sure if there was any prompt via the user interface as I hadn't used the product for months. But a notice via email would have been a good thing-- HitmanPro was nagging via email and the UI about a month prior to its expiration..

Oh yeah, the renewal price was the full price, no discounts. And it ain't cheap.

Not really no if there's slowdown its marginal and my PC is a few years old now so isn't exactly cutting edge. With Manifest 3 coming having an Ad blocker which isn't a browser extension which could be constrained by new restrictions on the number of filters makes sense too. That said I prefer the level of control offered by UBO in advanced mode.

I went for a lifetime licence so there shouldn't be a renewal attempt.

Yes, true, and it seems a good deal this year. 19.99USD.

@JasonUK, thanks for your reply. Yeah at that price for a lifetime, it is tempting.:)

Got the extension update to 3.5.23. Then I noticed that the green AdGuard extension favicon to the right of the address bar had turned black. This seemed very unusual to me. Finally I realized that it is due to Black Friday. Duh! (At least I think that's why it is black!) :)

    Wow, mine's still green. :'(

Could not resist the ghacks deal so AdGuard is back. I wuv uBlock Origin but its protections in Microsoft Edge are now suboptimal without a lot of finagling. AdGuard is taking care of most annoyances (cookie notices, site notifications, etc) successfully and pages are loading quickly. The MSN News app is actually pretty clean now. Imported and activated a lot of filters so it's good to go.

Making the change to my signature with a little twinge for uBlock Origin. If I install Firefox someday, it's back in a flash, that's a promise. :thumb:

I just wanna say that the AdGuard lifetime license that I bought some years ago was one the best software purchases that I made, it is totally worth it.

One year ago I installed AdGuard for Windows on two machines. I have not reset the statistics during that time, so I can see exactly how many ads and trackers AdGuard has blocked this past year.

    826.5K Blocked ads & 404.9K Blocked trackers.

As for Blocked threats, I do have AdGuard Browsing Security enabled, but believe that I have enough other protection in place to render this module pretty much useless.

The 2nd machine, used much less frequently, is showing 403.8K Blocked ads and 264.8K Blocked trackers. Since I also run Privacy Possum and Decentraleyes, the tracker stats for AdGuard are probably lower than they would be if I was running it alone.

I have previously purchased generous lifetime AdGuard licenses for laptops and Android also. And it is a fine product. (I do disable protection for some sensitive apps, banking, etc.).

It does concern me that this is a sustainable business model though ...

Manifest v3 will adopt 150,000 rules.
I see no problems for UBO.
