Later Versions Broken and Pay-For-Portable: All versions of FreeFileSync after 6.2 are broken and can't be run from other apps. This prevents packaging, use of the base portable version with menus like the PortableApps.com Platform, use of the local version with a scheduler, use of the local version with an alternative start menu, etc. Details are in this bug report from March 7, 2014 which the publisher did not address. The current version of FreeFileSync can not be used portably without paying a fee, is no longer fully open source, and may be in violation of the GPL.

 

Seems to be a very busy & complicated GUI for doing the simple job of synchronizing files. But... to each her (or his) own.

Does it support preserving files & folders time stamps(created, modified, accessed) while copying/sync?

 

I gave Freefilesync a trial run because I enjoy messing around with other apps. However, SyncFolders is the synchronizer that I actually use, day in & day out. SyncFolders copies changed files from source to destination EXACTLY as they are, & that includes the time stamps. I *assume* that Freefilesync does the same.

 

Yes, FreeFileSync preserves time stamps.

I saw the thread but somehow confused it with freefilesync, will try it too.

 

SyncFolders has a portable version. It works exactly the same as the installed version BUT if you decide not to keep it, all you have to do is delete the file. Poof! It's gone and no uninstall is needed.

I hope SyncFolders meets your needs. As for me, I really like it!!!
