    --------------------------------------
    FWIW ~ https://www.neowin.net/news/sandboxie-418/
    Sandboxie 4.18 changelog:
    A security hole with the Windows print spooler has been plugged. An application could use the print spooler to write an arbitrary file outside the sandbox. If Sandboxie detects that the print spooler is attempting to write a file outside the sandbox at the request of a sandboxed application, it will issue "SBIE1319 Blocked spooler print to file".

    NOTE: Some printer drivers write temporary files to their own work area, even when not printing to file. In these cases, you will get SBIE1319 even when printing normally (not to file). The print may still print successfully. In this situation, you can safely ignore SBIE1319, hide the error message, or open the folder as described below.

    There are 3 ways to allow the print spooler to print to file:
    1. If you trust the process that is printing, you can double-click the SBIE1320 (that follows SBIE1319) to allow the print spooler to write files outside the sandbox for that particular process. [...]

    Version 4.18 - Released on 28 May 2015.

    I use WIN10 2004, Firefox and Windows Defender (no other AV). All works fine with 5.43.7, no false alarm from Defender.

    Where are the moderators?

    This is Tom's fork thread but it's being bumped by people talking about David's fork.

    It should be closed until Tom shows up again.

    Moderators Have Not Gone Anywhere. We Have Decided to Keep This Thread Open Due to Members Asking Questions About Issues With the Last Version 5.33.6. Bo Elam Has Been Generous Enough to Answer That Version's Questions, Regardless Whether Tom Returns or Not. While Asking Members to Try David's Version to Resolve Problems With the Legacy Version Will Take This Thread Off Topic, We Will Not Close This Thread.

    We Ask Members to Only Keep Questions to Version 5.33.6 Here. Use David's Thread for Newer Versions: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/sandboxie-plus-sbie-fork.427755/ Thank You!

    So in David's thread should be posted questions both for version 5.43.6 and for SandboxiePlus? Is this assumption right?

    I think JRViejo wrote it very clear:

    "We Ask Members to Only Keep Questions to Version 5.33.6 Here"

    If the version is not 5.33.6 (last version released by Sophos), questions should be posted in David's thread.

    Seeing as zero progress has been made since this thread was created, I think it's safe to say we will never see his return.

    Correct! Any question/issue beyond version 5.33.6 should be in David's thread.

    No this is true, but I was just trying to figure out how such an open source project works in the first place. Because now it's getting confusing. But I'm of course happy that David is actively developing Sandboxie. I'm simply suggesting that perhaps he must call it a different name like "Sandboxie Classic". Then we all know that it's David's version, and of course he also develops Sandboxie Plus which has a different GUI and some extra features.

    From what I understood, you can sell software that's developed under GPL V3, but I might be wrong.

    BTW, here is another example of Chrome zero days that were being exploited. They could have been combined with another sandbox escape bug in Chrome, or with a Windows Kernel exploit. If Sandboxie was running in top, it could have possibly still mitigated the attack, assuming that the hackers were not directly targeting Sandboxie itself.

    Thought I would mention this in case anyone else has had this problem signing into Yahoo using an older Sandboxie version.

    I was using 5.31.6 for about a year I think. No problems other than when chrome went to version 86, then did the work around posted here. Recently on my wifes computer, she is using 5.31.6 also, she was unable to sign into her Yahoo account mail, etc. This started within the last week. So not being able to figure it out, and realized it was time to go to a more recent version, I tried 5.33.6 and after installing (upgrading over current installation), it fixed whatever sign in issues we were having with Yahoo.

    So if anyone finds they are experiencing this problem using an older version of SB, at least for us, installing 5.33.6 fixed the issues. In MS Edge Chrome, it would crash the browser trying to sign in to Yahoo...5.33.6 also fixed Edge chrome also.

    Pierre, try version 5.33.6, or David's latest build. I have 5.33.6 in my W7, all is well. You shouldn't be getting any driver related messages with 5.33.6.

    Get installer for 5.33.6 from this link.

    Hi Came. If you prefer not having to click SBIE 1320 every time you print, try this solution here below. If you enable this setting, you shouldn't have to continuously click the SBIE1320 message when you click to print something..The permission becomes permanent.

    You can generally allow printing to files by adding the following setting to your sandbox configuration:
    Code:
    AllowSpoolerPrintToFile=y
    Or only for the requesting program, according to message SBIE1319:
    Code:
    OpenFilePath=firefox.exe,%SystemDrive%\Windows\Temp\*.tmp
