I've been running WD at home for maybe close to a month now. No major issues to report. I do not have Memory Integrity enabled. It was also not on by default either. I am using ConfigureDefender set to High settings as well.

    Windows 10 2004 x64 Enterprise here.

...why? If you are using ATP that means you are on a Enterprise version and are paying the subscription.

    Exactly, what a blunder.

LOL, good point. On the other hand it might give makers of tools like Spybot Anti-Beacon a clue if they have blocked most phoning home in Win 10 Home. :p

Today, I just tried NovaBench (all tests except GPU) with different AVs, and found out in my machine (Win 10 Home on an i5 with 8 GB of RAM) that Defender now has the best score in terms of performance impact on the system (over free versions of Avast, Kaspersky, and Bitdefender).

yesterday I uninstalled ESET on my main laptop and enable MS Defender.

but after it, Win 10 was restarting after every boot. Got a very hard time.

Started in safe mode and did a system restore.

Not having good experience with MS Defender.

That's great and NovaBench is nice b/c it's relatively brief.

Luckily I'm also one user who has adapted to Defender and currently has no problem with it. If I perceived Defender was impeding the speed of the system, I would see about replacements and/or just disabling it.

The Antimalware Platform got an update. Here's the latest version:

Are you sure it’s not Eset the problem? Last year when uninstalling Eset I remember I had problems because it did not uninstall correctly...

No Eset was not a problem.

Later I installed other AV and system was working good.

Only Defender was forcing system for auto shutdown.

I have just used virtually all AVs paid and free on my main computer (powerful) and all but WD caused a variety of problems from minor to major. Not cheer-leading for Microsoft but I am telling it the way it is and I have been testing before most were born.

I have installed and uninstalled Avira Pro and Kaspersky Internet Security many times and Windows Defender always reactivated itself without any problems across three versions of Windows 10.

To clarify, I was not addressing installation, I was addressing the fact that several of them crashed my computer and damaged critical files. I even had to re-install windows because of one of them.

Defender has not had issues unlike the others.

That's why I stick with Defender despite its heaviness on my low-RAM i3 laptop. It may not be the slickest AV, but at least it doesn't break anything.

I don't know why you'd use WD - or any other antivirus, if you find it to be heavy, when there other antiviruses which are often much lighter. Third party antiviruses don't always cause problems. To give an example, I've been using 360 Total Security on my main computer, which I use for around 12 hours a day, every single day, for over two years. In that time it's not caused even a single issue with Windows. I've had an issue with 360 itself just one. Considering that it only happened once, I presume that it was because I most likely had not restarted my system for weeks, rather than an actual bug in 360. As well as being problem free, 99% percent of the time, it doesn't slow down my computer.

This is not a specific recommendation for 360, but I'm just posting to point out that not all third party antiviruses will cause problems. Of course, WD is a very good antivirus, if it doesn't slow down your computer.

BTW, I removed McAfee AV on my new laptop, does this mean that Win Defender real time protection is now auto enabled? If it is, I'm currently not seeing any big performance problems. But I see you can also turn of real-time protection is this correct? Or will it re-enable itself?
