    I also checked the OpenPhish list.
    HTTP = 1860
    HTTPS = 1292

    P.S.

    Too bad some maintainers don't organize a malware + phishing list with HTTPS only.:thumb:

    anyone else persuing the alleged issue with cookies?

    i dont have a special evidence but something went strange here theses days.

    running chromium v88 canary + ubo 1.30.9dev = nothing
    running chromium v86 (previous final build) + ubo 1.30.6 = losing cookies
    running chromium v86 (previous final build) + ubo 1.30.9dev = nothing

    running chromium v86 (current final build) + ubo 1.30.9dev = nothing
    switching same session to
    running chromium v86 (current final build) + ubo 1.30.6 = losing cookies instantly

    wtf!?

    edge resolved an issue with losing cookies and mozilla set a firefox micro-patch with the normandy feature the privacy-pref to "false" again. anyhow firefox lost cookies with 1.30.6, but not with 1.30.9dev before the micro-patch was applied.

    sounds strange but this is what i experienced here.

    Does this 'play' well with chromium-based Edge?

    Thanks. As a new user should I just use the default settings?

    pv, for my money, you should give ubo wiki a read when you have time. it'll help you understand the way ubo works so that you can get the most out of it.

    Yes, start with default, read the wiki like @imdb suggested and see from there if and to what mode you want to go.
    Nothing wrong with default, the other modes need more initial work from you.

    To be honest, I'm not sure what this list is supposed to do? But to clarify, the issue that I had with uBlock, seems to be a problem with Vivaldi 3.4, it somehow doesn't play well with ad-blockers. With that I mean, it believes that websites aren't fully loaded, while in fact they are. It also happens with Ghostery and ABP, but it mostly happens when uBlock is enabled.

    After recently moving to a non-legacy version of ublock, I noticed that ublock0.sqlite is no longer being used. Where is this data now being kept? I assume the data has been migrated for UBO/Webext and was wondering where and what new file format is being used to keep the data.

    Which browser? For Firefox, it's for longer now the storage folder and ublock has IMO 5 subfolders for itself.

    The list is certainly optimized for the browser's internal adblocker.
    In my opinion you should check if it is possible to make UBO coexist with Vivaldi's internal adblocker.

    Personal example.
    I very rarely use Edge-Chromium
    It bothers me to install in this browser of UBO.
    I have chosen to install BeerisGood's list in the internal adblocker:

    https://github.com/Kees1958/W3C_ann...ocklist/blob/master/BeerIsGood_Edge_blocklist

    P.S.

    I have saved the list web page on my smartphone and every now and then check for updates that happen infrequently.
    So I can proceed with an eventual update.
    I just need to figure out when the list is restored to the original model.
    For example today i upgraded to 20H2 and there was no reset.

    Yes, Firefox. I looked in the storage folder, but I don't see anything obvious. Do you have any specific files or folders where ublock keeps its' data?

    no, its different for each profile. i noticed it while searching overall that folder for content with "ublock". but this is not only ublock, several extension do this way - but i should say that firefox save this way because its part of the newer storage code. the previous store was subfolder \browser-extension-data\ - in case of older extensions its created, has probably a subfolder, but contains no data. data was moved by firefox automatically.

    a quick view in my backups told me that storing extension data started with firefox quantum v57, first one here was "violentmonkey" and other extension to follow. so extensions "improved" using this newer and faster method storing data.

    ublock "legacy" is only for firefox based browser which cannot use the newer webextensions and vice versa since firefox v57 it can not use any longer "legacy" extensions.

    i am not sure if you switch now ublock will find your legacy settings file, you should export before then import it.

    I'm having a problem logging in to one specific website (https://www.gmx.net) which seems uBlock related. If I use easy mode, I can login, but if I use medium mode with the big blue button, I get a pop-up the says my browser client is outdated. The login page is not being blocked and the pop-up only occurs after entering the proper credentials and password. I'm at a loss on how to proceed in finding the cause for this. My understanding is the easy mode turns off dynamic filtering whereas medium mode turns it on. Doesn't the big blue botton also turn dynamic filtering off?

    Trying to finalise my UBO filter list.. I'm OK with the standard filter choices but not 100% with my custom additions which I think may be a bit bloated with 1hosts (mini), StevenBlack's unified list & Kee1958's 'most prevalent...'. I think I can probably lose at least one but can't decide which!

    Comments/suggestions welcome :)

    @JasonUK

    For me, your lists are too many.
    No rules in My filters are bad.
    This would allow you to do without various lists.

    you can disable "easyprivacy" while using adguard list.

    from "custom" "i-dont-care-about-cookies" = disable.
    for the cookies you better install the extension with same name, its more efficient.

    i had a closer look to 1host mini - it contains locked addresses for windows mandatory hosts. for browsers it may not concern, but using it for a windows hosts file make windows fail.

    Thanks for suggestions so far (more always welcome :))

    I've made a few changes:

    First added Window_Security(Kees)' suggestions over on malwaretips thread 'uBlock0rigin in Medium mode for Lighter and Stronger Protection..' and added following filter:

    ! --- Block third-party web requests on insecure HTTP websites except images and CSS-stylesheets
    !
    HTTP://*^$third-party,~image,~stylesheet
    !
    (& also the generic advertising prefixes list)

    Some question mark over whether HTTP should be preceded by || ie ||HTTP:// ?

    Also enabled UBO Medium Mode and added following rules:

    * * 3p-frame block
    * * 3p-script block
    * com * noop
    * gg * noop
    * ie * noop
    * im * noop
    * je * noop
    * net * noop
    * org * noop
    * uk * noop

    (ie TLD Org, Net & Com & British Isles specific UK, IE, GG, JE & IM exclusions to 3rd-party scripts block on HTTPS sites)

    Unselected AdGuard Social Media
    Removed 1Host (mini) custom filter
    Removed StevenBlack custom filter
    Removed "i-dont-care-about-cookies' custom filter (I didn't bother with the recommended extension either as I'm trying to minimise these too!)
    Retained Kees1958 full EU_UK list (c4k items) rather than the Top500 subset (both are small anyway)

    Still considering which of the cosmetic filters to disable too.
