    Hi,
It's OK to run WD with WVSX. But once WD detects malware, the malware will be locked by WD and other AV cannot access to them, so there might be a misunderstanding that WVSX does nothing when something happens.

Oh, if only ALL software outfits thought the way that you do, WiseVector. :thumb:

    That makes sense.

I can think of one who is as, if not far excelled in such a test than @cruelsister.
From the oodles and numerous open publishings on YT of her videos of massive confrontations with many various commercial security products vs the most notorious of badwares (UNBIASED) they have been from my duplicate mirror testings exceptionally accurate.

Same of the reviews. While maybe not endorsed of mainstream sponsored test companys, it sure lays out a reasonable array of Real World results at layman/users level that is not guided by some industry policy for the results.

She hasn't done a video for a long time, but I saw that WVSX has already caught her interest.
So I guess we will see a video soon...hopefully.

How is WVSX against trojan horse removal, for example,

    Solaris Trojan Horse
    Solaris.DDoS.Mstream

    Kind regards,

    Hi,
Trojan is a type of malware. WiseVector StopX is designed to detect various kinds of malware including Trojan.
The two samples you mentioned seems to be very old. You can test WVSX with the particular samples if it's possible.

    Hopefully.

Certainly the most credible tester and 'convincing'; would attract more attention to WVSX @WiseVector ...

So mbae anti exploit should be disabled too if hitman pro's anti-exploit must be off, good to know,

what does the protect documents do, it's some kind of anti ransom, is it like Windows Defender folder protection or some anti-macro and scripting?

would like to know more about levels, ie aggressive vs normal - at least basic info that should be on GUI as a link or in form of question mark button, the program is a bit cryptic about its options

WiseVector Stop-X was a nice surprise for me, it is very light on system impact and differently from others AI solutions I didnt see a false positive at now, I ran some games and my daily software and so far so good.

Cylance for example trashed many software utilities (like DNS Jumper) and games that I had installed (automatic quarantine and hard to restore), it was a nightmare and WVSX was simple quiet and unobtrusive.

I will definitively keep a eye on it ...

Yes, it's similar to Windows Defender controlled folder access. When Document Protection is enabled, you can add files or folders which needs particular protection after that only trusted programs can delete or modify the files and folders being protected. WVSX will add trust applications automatically but you can add them manually as well.
Sorry for the inconvenience at present. We will get the GUI improved in the near future. Generally, setting on Aggressive, WiseVector StopX can detect more suspicious files during static scanning, but there might be more FPs. Setting on Normal or High is appropriate for most users. The settings will be effective when users perform static scanning only.

    Hi @ Wilders

    Does Wisevector have automatic updating?

What does it actually update ie Program and or virus definition files?

    Thanks

    Terry

That is the first benefit which raised my hopes since im for the time being running on dated 8.1 O/S system of Windows. It snags, grabs, and otherwise thwarts some of the most notorious of ransomwares I put to it. I was a beta tester for Ransomoff when it first was introduced and that program was surprisingly effective ON & AFTER infection with rollback technology, but WVSX in my testings as @WiseVector so clearly describes prevents ahead of entry and terminates them before they enter. I'm sure post prevention is equally efficient but the key is trapping the intruders well before they can toehold anyplace in a PC.

In essence from my ongoing evaluation of WVSX it is making excellent use of AI at prevention point which is better overall than cleaning up after a penetration. Very satisfied to date with it's development and unique behavior sensitivity.

Thanks for sharing your experience with WVSX, it is really special and it made me less sceptical of "pure" AI antimalware.

I am looking forward to @cruelsister testing videos ...

Still say a box or two of Godiva Truffles will help her make the decision to do the video.

That may not be enough. She prefers only the finest, so maybe some Euro artisan chocolate.

Better yet, anything we can offer to pamper her prize possession pet. Now that might do the trick.

I literally have saved countless of @cruelsister YT videos (Thank You) of 2 years ago mostly and still turn to them as a ever relevant current resource. Not so much as for comparisons/effectiveness of various security apps, as important as that truly is, but brings to life (for me) just how ferocious some badwares prove out to be and measures best suited alternatives to employ that can be of good use locally.

It's surprise to see that people here are trying to persuade cruelsister to test WVSX in a rather cute and humorous way which makes me feel warm, being like in a big family!:)
    All the best!:D

Yes, WVSX has automatic updating. It updates application, signatures, modules automatically.

Another test by Cruelsister wouldn't hurt, but I thought she had already expressed her opinion of Wisevector Stop X in post #16 of this thread (back in August)...

She did, and it was very positive. Seeing the results in a video, maybe on her YouTube channel, would add impact to her comments.

Is WVSX free? I ask because on their site it mentions a free trial. However, after installing it, I can see no mention of cost. Earlier in this thread it mentions that it'll be going payware, but that was quite a while ago and I'm not sure if things have changed since then. Also, it would be nice to see the "document protection" setting change so that you can set up restrictions of allowed applications on a per-folder basis. Users might not want every exe to have access to every protected folder.

Yes, it is, some advanced features (not implemented) will be in the future paid version only.
