Due to the forthcoming Manifest V3 I'm looking for a solution to keep adblocking in Chrome on Kubuntu. Anybody using a desktop adblocker?

Why not install Brave? They have suggested that they may not follow Chrome.

By desktop adblocker do you mean something not a browser extension? I used privoxy about 10 years ago but then gave up and used Adblock Plus and then ublock origin. Nothing comes to mind other than using Hosts files which can get quite clunky.

Not aware of one. Maybe setup pi-hole? Either that or try Brave or Firefox. I am in the same boat. I am ok with Windows as I can use Adguard for Windows but for Linux hard to say. Hopefully some others will chime in.

Prefer UBO but if I can't use it pi-hole looks OK for blocking, but leaves placeholders.

On fedora, I'm using the AdGuard browser extension along with NextDNS. Although a paid service, It allows for 300,000 queries per month for free before resorting to a simple resolver, i.e. no blocking. If anyone is however to make a true Linux desktop application, it will be AdGuard (I hope).
