Haven't heard about BullGuard in ages, do they still use the BitDefender engine and are considered to be light? They stopped participating in AV-Comparatives tests it seems

Well, it's interesting that they mention their behavior blocking based on "Dynamic Machine Learning", this should make it less reliant on the cloud. Sounds good in theory.

Just installed it in a VM, they didn't change, the UI is just horrible! I installed the AV only because that's all I want, but no they must put buttons for all features available in other products with a click to upgrade button!

Wish I saw your message earlier, the moment I saw that UI, I deleted the VM. No matter what engine they use I will not have it on my machine with that UI.

I saw the screenshot and it didn't look too bad to me, but it's a matter of taste.

Sorry, this took a while as I have been quite busy lately.

Yes, BullGuard is now implementing the Avira anti-malware SDK as well as the Avira malware remediation SDK, meaning that it's getting a complete set of malware disinfection procedures, machine learning procedures, cloud scanning and signatures from Avira. Considering BullGuard has it's own machine learning based BB on top of this, tests should get interesting soon.

It appears to be very light. But just using Avira signatures instead of Bitdefender, does not always mean a product will be lighter. As an example, Tencent PC Manager become noticeably lighter after they switched from Avira to Bitdefender signatures.
