OK, I now understand it. And I also think it was the right decision, it's not about that. I simply wanted to explain why this Chrome topic is started under my name, eventhough I absolutely hate Crappy Chrome LOL.

It's about the small geeky things that Chrome simply misses. Of course "normal" users won't notice this stuff and that's why Chrome is the most popular browser. It's a great bare bones browser for the masses, but it's not so good for power users.

Are you kidding me, Vivaldi is pretty good, you should try it.

What's the status of Chrome re: ad blockers? I recall a lot of talk about proposed changes in Chrome that limited ad blockers' capabilities. Has this been implimented or still upcoming? I've not seen any discussion for some time, so curious what the situation is.

I think they are still planning to implement this, but others like Vivaldi, Brave and Opera for example can simply block it from what I understood. On the other hand, they are all based on Chromium, so I wonder how they will block this.

I noticed a thing in my Chrome Task Manager called "Spare Renderer" next to a puzzle icon.

Chrome has very high CPU and very high Memory on some sites for me and then i get a aw snap message that says the site is not responding. Is it me or anyone else having the same problem lately. One site is lifeextension.com that chrome can't deal with.

That site gets up to 2 Gig of Ram as the only tab in use for me. On the bottom left of screen it shows ... Waiting for lifeextension.com but it never loads the page and stops waiting.

The site you mentioned that Chrome "can't deal with" opens fine for me with Chrome. One thought... have you ever tried reinstalling Chrome? I used to reinstall it periodically when Windows Updates would mysteriously change all my desktop icons. Reinstalling not only put the icons back correctly, but I always felt like the browser ran faster/better. Like a tune up of sorts.

I reinstalled Chrome just before i posted here about it. When i uninstalled, it asked me if i wanted to blow away all the data also. I kept the data because i was going to install it again. Maybe the data has something to do with it.

When you tell Chrome to wipe private data about you, it spares two websites from the purge: Google.com, YouTube

There's another thing you might like to try: in the advanced settings of Chrome, the last section 'Reset and cleanup' could make a difference, although if I were you I would make an image first just in case some undesirable results might occur. Have you tried with another browser, the new MS Edge for example?
