currently im using pCLOUD with 500GB storage space (promotion, lifetme license, price i guess: $60). Few weeks ago i also purchased the encryption option
(promotion, also lifetime license, price: $105 ). The access is quite comfortable (via the drive letter 'P' in my file manager 'directory Opus') therefore the only
cloud service im currently using is pCloud. The up and download speed is quite good so im very satisfied with this service.

I have about 400 GB of lossless music (and counting), and I would like to back it up online, so I'm looking for a cheap and reliable storage provider.

    Suggestions are welcome. :)

SpiderOAK becasue they use encryption zero-knowledge and unlimited syncs devices.

They are like ProtonMail system is setup to give most privacy as is only posible while dropbox and other need give data to police on each call.

Sync app. They're not an automatic backup cloud service provider, however they have a feature called Sync Vault. The files in the Vault are stored separately from the syncing service. You'd manually upload the container folder. After completion, any subsequent upload attempts from that specific folder will be scanned for any new or changed files; only those will be uploaded. The files are identified by their file path.

Their sync and vault features have worked flawlessly for me and are zero-knowledge services. They've promptly/professionally answered (email) the few questions I've had.

Had to drop Webroot's Backup & Sync about a year ago due to unending problems with the software on the Mac. I'm still running iCloud for a cloud storage provider.

It is not clear what the free version enables e.g. how much space? is it just a pre-subscription trial?

Mediafire deleted my account completely, reason is inactivity. There where no important files for me, but it could be....

I'm now on Mega.nz, simple, no need of extra software installation, just with browser.
50GB are temporary free, after month or so, there are only 15GB basic, and i hope lifetime, without deleting my account and all files in the cloud.
15GB are enough for my software backup.

Only Premium plan (Cheapest $39.99 / 3 months) would make sense to me for my use case. With Free plan they delete files after 30 days.

Kinda looking around for cloud backup option (as opposed to OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive - which I see more as sync options), as Zoolz Home (used Amazon Cold Storage) has been discontinued and all data will be deleted on Oct 15.

but it says after inactivity not just 30 days. At least it's one of the few solutions to offer such large storage for free

Guys, lately I have been using my laptop a bit more and I notice that I'm missing access to data stored on my desktop. Google Drive isn't really handy and has got a terrible GUI. What would you recommend, should I give Dropbox a try?

After using Dropbox virtually since inception, I've switched to OneDrive.

I forgot to mention that I indeed prefer to use some app to quickly upload certain files and both Dropbox and OneDrive offer this. I checked out the OneDrive website and it felt a bit slow, but I ain't planning to use it that much. Is there any reason why you switched? I deed see that Dropbox is quite a big download while OneDrive is already preinstalled on Win 10. I'm afraid that Dropbox is too bloated.

I think Dropbox is becoming increasingly bloated, and as you say OneDrive is already installed and I had previously increased my free GB allocation. Now moot because I have recently subscribed to Microsoft 365 which provides 1TB storage.

Holy crap, I decided to give the OneDrive app a try and what a mess! I didn't like the experience at all, it messed up all of my desktop icons. I will now give Google Drive a try, I forgot that it also has an app. Small tip, Desktop Restore doesn't seem to work correctly on Win 10 so you better use Iconoid to restore desktop icons positions.

For personal storage, I use my hosted domain.
For sharing / collaboration & emails much to large to email I’m using Icedrive.net.
Much easier to use & navigate than Dropbox. Supports WEBdav.

    $19.99/yr $59.00/lifetime 150GB
    $49.99/yr $149.00/lifetime 1TB
    $179.99/yr $499.00/lifetime 5TB

I didn't know there was an app for PC, don't use it.
Just use OneDrive via the taskbar icon, and File Explorer.
