    Hey there, VoodooShield, Work Perfect with the following combination:

    * adwcleaner
    * Adware Removal To...
    * Kaspersky Security Cloud (latest)
    * Old Sandboxie Version 5.33.6 (64-bit)
    * VoodooShield (latest)

    light and quick on my PC's.
    Not sure, I would add WiseVector StopX with my combination. Maybe as 2nd
    Scanner.

    Again the only thing, I am concern with is ransomware, spyware and information stealers.....
    look over the following below: cut and paste
    cybersecurityventures.com/25-hot-anti-ransomware-companies-to-watch-in-2020/

    I am trying to keep it light as possible with too much overkill....
    But it nice to have a backup if one the above fail.....

    Hope this help out......

    @paulderdash -- I have been running WiseVector together with VS for several weeks now. No problems whatsoever for my aging laptop.

    @Gandalf_The_Grey -- Thanks to the nth!!!

    @ all -- Now that VS no longer meshes with VirusTotal, I suppose I now need to run some sort of signature-based AV alongside VS. Any suggestions?

    You're welcome @bellgamin
    I would always run an av alongside VS.
    Dan recommends that on his home page:
    When on Windows 10 Windows Defender could be an option.
    Sometimes you can get an AV from your ISP (an F-Secure Safe rebrand is available through my ISP).
    Personally, I run Kaspersky Security Cloud Free with VS because with both Windows Defender and F-Secure Safe a notice a delay in opening folders with exes.
    I thought you were trying WiseVector Stop-X?

    WinDef is not an option because I run Win7. For several reasons, I will not switch from Win7 until the time when either (a) pigs fly, or (b) M$ replaces Win10 with an OS that doesn't repeatedly try to force-feed my computer.

    As to WiseVector (WV): I run WV from time to time -- primarily in order to help it get debugged. I will buy a license if/when it comes out with a paid version. However, that would only be done because I like to support new/innovative security apps. For several reasons, WV is not an AV that I would select as a component in my computer's real-time security.

    It's been a fairly long time since I ran a real-time AV, other than for short-time trial/recreational purposes. I'm leaning toward continuing to avoid real-time AVs, and relying primarily on VS plus SimpleWall plus AdInf plus 2 on-demand AVs (Hitman Pro & Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool) plus imaging every 2-3 days.

    @bellgamin You probably don't need an AV with your setup, but you asked opinions...
    If you used Kaspersky Security Cloud Free in real time you wouldn't need the on-demand AV's (Hitman Pro & Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool).
    Norton Power Eraser or Emsisoft Emergency Kit are other optional on-demand scanners worth considering.

    Just be aware this is prone to false positives. Carefully check any detections before allowing NPE to remove any files. It has been known to remove critical Windows files resulting in Windows not booting.

    I said "I'm LEANING toward continuing to avoid real-time AVs" -- I am NOT ignoring opinions & suggestions. Not at all. I'm going to give Kaspersky Security Cloud Free a trial, for sure. One question: why not use Kaspersky's paid version? Or is the paid version's added protection made redundant by your other security apps in general, and VS in particular?

    If you use the paid version (KIS) in think there is no need for VS. The free version doesn't have application control, covered by VS and no firewall, covered by SimpleWall in your setup. I'm just using Windows own firewall. Personally, I like to experiment with different setups, to see what works best for me or any user that I support and in that case, it can be a waste of money to pay for a security suite.
