I thought it has been already dead for at least 20 years.

Moribund but not dead. F-prot was a favorite of many Wilders members a good while back.

It was a good choice, when MS-DOS was around, and was useful on early Windows versions.
As a signature based AV, it does not cover today's threats.

Now the company focuses on enterprise solutions.

I remember using it on Windows 3.11. It detected Michelangelo virus that could not be removed from within Windows but I managed to remove it from DOS.
Those were times when having good signatures was the same as having a good AV. Over the years things have changed and they stopped developing their AV a long time ago. I doubt that many users will be impacted by this decision.

Ah the familiar name of a now relic of a once fine product many versions & years ago.

I use to turn to it like others on Windows 98SE
