Some info taken from FB regarding this useful new zoom setting feature: Source: https://www.facebook.com/oeclassic/
- New OEC PRO v3.1 version available: Bugfixes: [2020-08-11] Fixed crash on some configurations when closing Message Editor [2020-08-22] Status bar high DPI sizing fixed in Message Editor and Message Viewer
Here's some background info from FB: The latest update of OE Classic - v3.1, 2020-09-05, https://www.oeclassic.com/ - has the following improvement: - Various high DPI misbehavior fixes We went through all the windows in the program and tested them on a high DPI Windows setting to see if some elements would still misbehave and we've fixed all that we could see, from squeezed status bars and tightly packed menus to tiny icons for attachments. OE Classic should now look good on any screen with 125% or more DPI setting (display scaling), for example laptops with high resolution screens where you have to increase the display scaling to over 100% to properly see all the clickable elements.
OE Classic Pro 3.1 (beta) update - 08 Sept 2020 New feature [2020-09-08] File encoding selection added to Import Wizard for CSV files
I don't know the terminology, what i do know it never work for me. Lost a lot of e-mails. Updates are pretty rare. Nice idea but not practical.
@Circuit: - It means that in different parts of the program the characters were displayed in a different size when the user had a monitor/screen with a high resolution/high DPI (=dots per inch). - Never had any problems with losing emails. The way the emails are stored is - in my opinion - "rock solid".If you had any problems with losing emails then why didn't you report that problem to the developer ? - One shouldn't Always blame the program. I know one case where a user switched from the POP protocol to the IMAP protocol in his emailprogram. For those who know the differences between the 2 protocols won't be surprised to see that this user also "lost" A LOT OF emails. And then the user blamed the program.
New version of OEC PRO available: [2020-09-18] User customizable folder icons (for user folders) [2020-09-20] IncrediMail import (v1.0 and v2.0 formats) [2020-09-22] Added 48x48 size for all toolbar icons
New version of OE Classic available: [2020-09-26] Compatibility adjustments for Windows 2000 [2020-09-29] IncrediMail import (v1.0, v2.0 and v2.5 formats) (How much people are still using Windows 2000 ? )
Even though Windows 2000 is hardly used by anyone today, this was a small adjustment to make it possible to run OE Classic on Windows 2000. Of course, our focus still remains on Windows 10, but this is useful if someone needs to transfer data from Windows 2000. OE Classic was already compatible with Windows 2000, but sometime between 3.0 and 3.1 we introduced a change which broke the compatibility, which is now, of course, fixed. Still not possible to make it the default email client. Takes a long time .... should be possible after such a long time.
- I consider "Default Email Client" also to be an important feature to be implemented next. The only thing the OEC developers are willing to say about "Default Email Client" is that "It's our next project". What that means ? I don't know.
I think it's more than a year ago now they said it was on top of the to do list. Since that time a lot of updates, not always clear what was updated, and corrections of errors I never noticed.
Update - 16 Nov 2020 New feature : [2020-11-16] Free and Pro versions are now unified into one installation file (Pro version requires activation)
- It has been about 6 week without a new update. Hopefully the developers are working on including an option for making OEC the default email client ............
Agree Willy2. It's on top of the to do list since a year now I think, still nothing. Why this activate / de-activate popup since the last update ? Useless.
There is a new (beta) update today 17 Nov 2020. But I don't know what exactly has been changed. The ReadMe file (the changelog) is the same, except for the date. Here you can see the difference: [+] [2020-11-16] Free and Pro versions are now unified into one installation file (Pro version requires activation) [+] [2020-11-17] Free and Pro versions are now unified into one installation file (Pro version requires activation) Maybe Facebook has more info. I don't know.
